News anchor Niña Corpuz is happy to return to doing radio shows after an almost two-year long break from doing radio shows.

During the media conference for her Nagseserbisyo, Niña Corpuz radio program last Tuesday, August 27, the former Kapamilya Star Patroller shared how she accepted a new show from her previous station.

"In my mind, I immediately agreed because of course this is where I grew up, this is where I learned the things I am doing now," Niña shared. "I have their blessings and it even made me more excited to do this show because I know that I now have not just one but two public service programs."

Niña is currently hosting another television public service show, Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon, on the flagship state broadcast channel of the Philippine government.

"I'm very excited because I've been away from the radio for almost two years and I really miss it, I feel like I'm not whole. But I had to learn with it, and then I had a show. But it's still different that I returned to my first home and that I can return to my old home where I feel at home. The difference now is that it's not just a health show," she added.

Niña’s new radio program show, with Kapamilya sportscaster Migs Bustos, talks about what different services agencies, organizations, and individuals can offer to the public on DWPM 630 Teleradyo Serbisyo.

The show had its pilot episode last July 1 on free-to-air, cable, and YouTube channel.

“The beauty of radio — you are more yourself and can loosen up a bit. 😅 Maybe it’s because you are in a more comfortable environment, it’s not as stiff as standing in the middle of the studio with a teleprompter,” Nina said in one of her behind the scenes videos during their show’s airing.

Nina also shared the segments that the show would feature.

"KOTD or Service of the day, we have main guests where we will talk about the services of their respective agencies. Usually these are public service officials, government officials, heads of departments who are talking about their various programs," she explained.

"There are also private individuals who bring their organizations that also help our country, our neighbors," she added.

The show also features other topics, including health services, business assistance, aiding animal welfare, and featuring stories of Filipino citizens.

Niña also answered how she transitioned from being a well-known entertainment and health reporter to hosting two shows about public service.

“I’m very grateful na these days we can do everything we couldn’t do before,” Niña shared. “Nag-umpisa ako as a reporter since the year 2000 and I’m very privileged to do the thing I love.”

She went on: "As a journalist, I learned a lot, I had a lot of exposure to different kinds of human situations which I feel makes me connect with people more, or to understand other people more. I'm very glad I had that wealth of experiences behind me that I can bring to this program and to deliver the service here.”
