FTISLAND cancels Manila show due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’

The entertainment agency of South Korean rock band FTISLAND just announced that their Pulse tour in Manila has been canceled. FNC Entertainment shared the unfortunate news on the fan community app Weverse earlier this week.

This was supposed to be FTISLAND’s much awaited comeback in the country after more than a decade.

FNC Entertainment cited that there were “unforeseen circumstances” which led to the decision to cancel the Manila leg of the show altogether. The South Korean rock band was supposed to perform tomorrow, September 14, at the SM North EDSA Sky Dome in Quezon City.

“We regretfully announce that <2024 FTISLAND LIVE 'PULSE' IN MANILA>, which was originally scheduled to be held on September 14th, 2024 at SM NORTH EDSA SKY DOME has been canceled due to unforeseen circumstances,” FNC Entertainment wrote.

Fans will be receiving a full refund for their purchased tickets and will be contacted by SM Tickets–– the official ticketer of the supposed event.

“For refunds, SM Tickets will reach out to all ticket holders via email and send instructions and requirements on how to refund. Please check your inbox in the coming days. For debit/credit card payments, please note card reversals may take 30 to 60 days,” they added.

The South Korean entertainment company expressed their deepest apologies to the Filipino fans who have waited for this moment.

“Thank you for your support and we hope to bring you more exciting performances in the future,” FNC Entertainment ended.

Meanwhile, some fans expressed their disappointment in the comment section of the post. Some shared how they had everything sorted out already and the last minute cancellation left a bad taste in their mouth.

“It is very unprofessional to cancel 3 days before the concert! 'Unforeseen circumstances' is such a jerk reason. We deserve the real reason at least,” a fan voiced out.

“Ay di po ganyan, some of us may flights and hotel bookings na. You should've cancelled the show, a week or 2 weeks prior. Short notice ng ticket selling, and then short notice ng cancellation,” another fan expressed.

FTISLAND, short for Five Treasure Island, made its debut back in 2007 with the song "Love Sick" and is known to be South Korea’s first idol band. The band consists of three members, Lee Hong-gi, Lee Jae-jin, and Choi Min-hwan.
