Rico Blanco expressed his gratitude via social media after his new version of "Kisapmata" achieved a massive feat on Spotify.

On Friday, September 6, Rico shared that the song has already reached a million streams on the music platform.

"Thank you very much 🙏 1M streams on @spotifyph," he posted alongside the stills from the visualizer of the track.

Fans online were quick to extend their congratulatory messages to Rico for the feat he achieved.

"Congratulations to you idol... you're a real music genius," one fan commented.

"[On] my daily playlist!" another fan wrote.

Rico released the new version of "Kisapmata" on Spotify last July. It's part of his new album which contains solo versions of his most beloved tracks.

The singer also released an official visualizer of "Kisapmata" on his YouTube channel which already gained more than 700K views as of this writing.

"The project is Rico’s long overdue response to a long standing request from his fans. The first single, 'You’ll Be Safe Here,' was released in October 2023. The following month, 'Kisapmata' was chosen by fans over 'Elesi' in an online poll," said in the description of the visualizer of the track.

"Kisapmata" was originally from the second studio album Trip of Rivermaya where Rico was a guitarist.

In February, the original members of Rivermaya had a reunion concert.

"The opportunity to do another first is a very strong factor for me to decide. Also, we're the first Filipino artist na ipo-produce ng Live Nation. So, that's big. For me, I've always been open, and it was just a matter of 'Is there anyone who can bring everyone together?'” Rico said in a previous interview on his decision of agreeing to do the reunion.

More than anything, Rico was ecstatic to be reconnected with his former bandmates again.

"Happy lang ako na may new era sa friendship namin, sorry to be senti guys, but mas excited ako doon na we are in touch again and where everyone’s cool," he said.

In June, the band announced that they will be bringing their reunion concert abroad starting in September.
