Selena Gomez is now a billionaire as per Bloomberg

Pop star Selena Gomez is now a billionaire.

According to Bloomberg, the singer and entrepreneur has now an estimated net worth of $1.3 billion.

The publication reported that majority of Selena's wealth came from her beauty brand Rare Beauty. Meanwhile her other wealth came from singing, acting, and partnerships with brands.

It was in 2020 when Selena launched Rare Beauty.

"I’m so excited to release beauty products that not only feel great, but also celebrate what makes each of us rare," Selena said in 2020 as per report by Variety.

She further highlighted: "These products aren’t about being someone else, it’s about being who you are, whether that’s rocking a full face of bold makeup or barely any makeup at all. Makeup is something to enjoy, it’s not something you need. I want every person to feel beautiful exactly as they are."

Selena is currently starring in the hit Hulu series Only Murders in the Building. The fourth season of the show premiered in August.

She also recently headlined the film Emilia Perez which premiered at Cannes Film Festival and earned her a Best Actress Award.

In 2020, she released her latest studio album Rare which debuted at the No. 1 of the Billboard 200.  

In an interview with SmartLess podcast in January, Selena opened up about her future plans as a singer.

"I do feel like I have one more album in me," she revealed.  "The older I get the more I’m kind of like, I would like to find something to just settle on."

Selena pointed out that music was initially something she did not think she would do full time.

"I thought it would be fun and I thought more than anything it would be a hobby that I really enjoyed. I wanted to be an actress. I never really intended on being a singer full time but apparently that hobby turned into something else," she stated.
