Kapamilya actress Alyssa Muhlach is one of the biggest Kathryn Bernardo fans, thus happy to finally be working with Kathryn, plus Daniel Padilla, in the rom-com series “<a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/2good2betrue" target="_blank">2 Good 2 Be True</a>.” Check out her stories about the power couple, her character, and the teleserye in this episode of Kapamilya Chat.Alyssa is thankful for the shower of blessings in her career. After playing a significant role in the digital series “Hello, Heart,” she auditioned for “<a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/2good2betrue" target="_blank">2 Good 2 Be True</a>” and luckily got the part of Jill, Lolo Hugo (Ronaldo Valdez)’s secretary and distant relative. She’s unleashing her inner ‘kontrabida’ this time, as Jill develops a slight competition with Kathryn’s Ali.Whether she’s playing a good or bad character, Alyssa’s goal is to make it look real, which is achieved by studying the character’s journey, backstory, and motivation, “Naniniwala ako na even ‘yung mga kontrabida roles, may reason kung bakit sila naging gan’un. Hindi naman sila talagang masama lang na tao, ‘di ba?”Also she has to root for the character, taking to heart the line she’s heard of before, which says everyone is a hero in their own story, “Tumatak siya sa akin kasi totoo, ‘di ba? Even people na may mga pagkakamali, there’s an explanation. It’s either from childhood trauma or something. May pinanggagalingan ang lahat ng tao.”It doesn’t just end with preparations, of course. She has to be on her toes while on set since surrounded by seasoned actors. “Sobrang focused ako. I make sure na I’m on the set when I’m called. I make sure that my lines are memorized kasi siyempre kasama mo si Kathryn, Daniel, Tito Ron, Tita Gloria [Diaz]. Talagang ang bongga ng cast. You cannot be mediocre. You have to always be at your best,” expressed Alyssa.The 2G2BT bubble has a good work atmosphere – professional when the cameras are rolling but warm and happy during breaks. Even KathNiel, whom Alyssa describes as two of the biggest stars in the Philippines, is so humble it’s impossible not to love them, “’Pag mas lalo mo silang nakilala, mas lalo mo silang mamahalin bilang mga tao and artista. Sobrang bait nila. They’re so generous. And they’re so inclusive.”They’re a tandem, sure, but they also know how to branch out and make friends. “I think that’s one of the things that made them standout to me, compared to ‘yung mga ibang artista na naka-work ko. Kasi, siyempre, ang star nila, so ikaw ‘yung mahihiya na sumama sa kanila. Pero sila talaga ‘yung, as in, si Kathryn would call you, ‘Alyssa, punta ka d’un sa standby.’ Sila ‘yung nag-i-invite sa’yo to chill with them, to talk with them kahit busy sila kasi sunod-sunod ang eksena,” said Alyssa.She continued, “They really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. And I love them both so much. “If you’re curious on how sweet KathNiel is onset, here’s what Alyssa has to reveal: “Sobrang sweet nila. Mapapa-‘sana all’ ka na lang kasi siyempre, naka-lock in, sila lang ang may jowa life sa lock-in.”The series is just warming up. But as the chapters unfold, Alyssa hopes viewers would pick up lessons from the story and the characters, for one, to never judge a book by its cover. It’s basically what Ali (Kathryn) and Eloy (Daniel) will show viewers as they get to know each other in Lolo Hugo (Ronaldo)’s mansion.She mused, “‘Di ba, some people, we judge based kung ano ‘yung look, ano ‘yung naririnig about them.
