But contrary to their time, the new generation of love teams carry more weight in terms of roles.“Isa sa mga kabaihan ng love team noon at ngayon, mas mature &#x27;yung mga characters na pino-portray nila madalas. Kasi sa amin noon, ang mga love teams tweetums lang, eh. Mga young love ang dating. Mga problema nila palagi typical na high school problems. Itong mga love teams ngayon, mabibigat na ‘yung mga dinadala sa buhay,” he said. The best example is KathNiel playing characters with major family problems and traumatic pasts, apart from the quintessential love dilemmas, in 2 Good 2 Be True. But the best thing about love teams today, according to Romnick, is the genuine teamwork, “Kasi may mga loveteams noon na purely on-screen lang. Minsan magkaaway pa ‘yung dalawa behind the scenes.”Romnick is glad to see Kathryn and Daniel helping each other grow, “Bilang tatay, naaaliw ako sa kanila. Iniisip ko, kung sinuman sa kanila ang anak ko, matutuwa ako na sila ang magkasama dahil nagsusuportahan sila, nag-aalagaan silang dalawa.”KathNiel, despite the superstar status, is very warm and inclusive, “Wala silang pinipili na kasama.
