Yves, Gillian share ‘kilig’ things about their journey as ReTox and their comeback series

Yves Flores and Gillian Vicencio never fail to deliver real ‘kilig’ vibes to their followers – from when their “ReTox” ship started sailing in <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/2good2betrue" target="_blank">2 Good 2 Be True</a> up to when the series ended. So, to answer the prayers of all ReTox fans, the two are back in a mini-series titled “ReTox: 2 Be Continued.” “Nando’n pa rin ‘yung bardagulan, ‘yung kulitan kasi doon nakilala sina Red at Tox, eh. Sa mga gano’ng moments na nag-aasaran pero nakakakilig,” shared Yves during his appearance on Kapamilya Chat with Gillian. “Pero ito, ni-next level na namin. May kaunting lalim pero ‘yung kakulitan at saka ‘yung lightness ng Red and Tox nando’n pa rin siya. Hindi pwedeng alisin kasi sila ‘yun, eh.”Following their first pairing in the KathNiel-starrer <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/2good2betrue" target="_blank">2 Good 2 Be True</a>, Yves and Gillian find their new project a cumbersome task no more. “After ‘2 Good 2 Be True’ talagang naging sobrang close kami ni Yves, so sobrang comfortable na namin sa isa’t isa,” Gillian offered. The challenging part, on the other hand, was getting back in character after almost a year of break. Gillian was close to spilling something, but Yves playfully covered her mouth with his hand. From there, he narrated that he asked Gillian to review the script with him, “Sabi ko, ‘Pwede bang basahin natin kasi baka ‘yung magic nawala?’ Hindi natin masabi kasi ang daming nangyari sa buhay namin. May kanya-kanya kaming trabaho.”“Nakakakilig pa ba tayong dalawa?” Yves admitted to asking this question to Gillian, cueing in their natural ‘bardagulan.’ The pair hinted at a deeper presentation of Red and Tox’s characters and their love story in the new series. Viewers will get to know the characters beyond their cute shenanigans and how their relationship progressed. The characters, if anything, are heaven-sent as they added color to Yves and Gillian’s careers and at the same time taught them lessons about life. For Yves, Red reminded him that there’s nothing wrong with asking for help. When it comes to romance, he sees Red as someone who fiercely expresses his love, someone who wouldn’t give up on the person he’d like to keep.Meanwhile, Gillian gleaned from Tox’s journey the importance of honesty. “May mga bagay na talagang dapat sinasabi. Communication is very important talaga sa kahit anong bagay, kahit anong relationship. Kailangan maging open ka para magkaintindihan kayo,” she adds that honesty must come with caution as well. Such lessons, they apply in real life. Yves mentioned that Gillian is among the first people he’d talk to about his problems. This is probably why they’ve become so close, that even their friends ask if they’re actually dating. “Hindi namin alam kung ano ‘yung nakikita nila sa amin. Sabi nga ‘yun ang magic. Tapos fini-figure out namin kung ano bang ginagawa namin off-cam. Wala, ito lang naman ‘yung normal namin.”He said that he didn’t see their closeness and ‘kilg’ chemistry coming, since he only saw her as one of the boys. Thus, he was surprised when director Mae Cruz-Alviar suddenly wanted to give their characters a love angle in <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/2good2betrue" target="_blank">2 Good 2 Be True</a>. “Nagkita na kami dati noong nagsho-shoot sila ng <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/bagongumaga" target="_blank">Bagong Umaga</a> tapos kami nagsho-shoot ng “Four Sisters Before The Wedding.” Tapos ang maldito niya, suplado.” Gillian shared that her close friend Charlie Dizon, who was Yves’ co-star in <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/asoldiersheart" target="_blank">A Soldier’s Heart</a>, talked to him prior to <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/2good2betrue" target="_blank">2 Good 2 Be True</a>. “Sinabihan na rin siya ni Ate Charlie na, parang, ‘Huy ikaw na bahala kay Gill’.” “Siguro ang nakita kong growth kay Yves as a person, mas pina-prioritize na niya ‘yung sarili niya ngayon,” she said, to which he replied, “Inuuna kita.”He further shared, “Aminado naman kami na clingy kami sa isa’t isa kasi ganu’n naman kami, eh.” Gillian expained, “Kumportable kasi kami sa isa’t-isa.
