In the last month of 2021, just a few days before the holidays, a powerful and catastrophic cyclone hit the country. Typhoon Odette left a huge damage to homes and the loss of hundreds of lives. Thousands were severely affected, and residents of the affected regions are calling out for the supply of food and medical care.To the residents affected by the typhoon, it felt like the holidays were canceled and hope was lost for the coming year because of the devastation brought about by the typhoon.Thankfully, many were willing to help and reached out to those who were affected. The disaster brought about by the typhoon led Filipinos to come together, helping one another in any way possible.One of which is Jollibee Group. For many years it has been the company&#x27;s mission to bring the joy of eating to everyone, so to continuously serve and deliver joy, Jollibee Group was one of the first groups to bring aid to the victims of Typhoon Odette. Together with our partners, we have worked tirelessly to bring the help needed so that our fellow Filipinos know that they are not alone throughout this ordeal,&quot; said JGF Executive Director Gisela Tiongson. Through the Jollibee Group FoodAID Program, the company has given meals to communities in the hardest hit areas of Agusan del Norte, Bohol, Cebu, Negros Occidental, Southern Leyte, Iloilo, Palawan, Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Norte. The Jollibee Group started distributing meals last December 19, 2021, together with its partners on the ground and the local government units in the affected communities, as well as the Philippine Navy. The foundation has been helping Filipinos for a long time—their flagship project, the Farmer Entrepreneurship Program, is a comprehensive initiative that organizes small-scale farming communities into agro-enterprises nationwide. Since 2008, JGF has helped farmers sharpen their technical and partnership-building skills and business know-how, and has linked them with institutional markets for increased and steady income.
