#Sunpiology: Piolo runs to fight diabetes, provide scholarships

<p>MANILA -- Despite his busy schedule, Piolo Pascual still finds time to do the activities he loves -- like running.</p><p>​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The actor recently led fellow running enthusiasts at the &quot;Sunpiology Run: Sugar Wars&quot; held at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City.</p><p>The event, which enjoyed excellent attendance, was aimed at raising awareness about diabetes and highlighting the importance of having a healthy lifestyle. Despite the rains, every single runner persevered to finish the race.</p><p>Following the fun run was a mini-concert headlined by Kapamilya stars, including Piolo himself. Singers Jason Dy, Jovit Baldivino, and Klarisse De Guzman gave powerful performances, while the love teams Bailey May and Ylona Garcia, and McCoy de Leon and Elisse Joson brought youthful &quot;kilig&quot; to the event.</p><p>Meanwhile, Piolo&#x27;s son and fellow Sun Life brand ambassador Iñigo also performed his debut single “Dahil Sa’yo” as well as “Live Life Brighter,” which is the theme song of Sun Life’s Go Well community.</p><figure class="op-interactive"><iframe allowfullscreen="" frameBorder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Za6IrpKp5UA?rel=0&amp;showinfo=0" width="560"></iframe></figure><p>Piolo also took the stage to serenade some fans to the tune of “Magpahanggang Wakas.”</p><p>The highlight of the event was the awarding of cash donations to the beneficiaries of #Sunpiology, such as the Institute for Studies on Diabetes Foundation, Inc., the Institute for Studies on Diabetes Foundation, Inc. But he had no qualms about join the run last Saturday, saying he remains committed to <strong>#Sunpiology</strong>.</p><p>In an exclusive interview, Piolo shared that his Sunpiology partnership with Sun Life has paved the way for significant milestones.</p><p>&quot;Since we started eight years ago, we&#x27;ve had kids graduate from grade school, high school, and even college. Some of them have already gotten as far as working already. We&#x27;re talking about eight years. Ever since we’ve partnered with Sun Life, we’ve been able to get more organizations to help as well,&quot; he said.</p><p>Giving back has always been ingrained in the actor, and he credits his family for this. &quot;My parents my parents taught us how to be compassionate. We would visit orphanages early on in our life, and you have to realize that not everyone is as blessed as you are,&quot; he said. &quot;And it&#x27;s a good feeling to be able to share your blessings because at the end of the day, you want to share happiness. And in showbiz, it&#x27;s all about that. If you&#x27;re able to give back, people won&#x27;t forget it and it would teach them how to give back as well.&quot;</p><p>When asked why it&#x27;s important for celebrities like him to live a healthy life, he said, &quot;You are your own product. What you sell is not just your talent, but also your physical appearance. So you always have to be ready when you&#x27;re given a role. You have to be versatile, so it&#x27;s easier to fit the mold. It&#x27;s just practical!&quot;</p><p>Moreover, he believes that celebrities have the power to influence people.
