Convergys employees give bags of hope to public school kids

<p>Employees of top business process outsourcing (BPO) company Convergys came together for the third year of &quot;Give A Bag Of Hope&quot; (GABOH), contributing P18 million worth of bags, books and school supplies for the benefit of public school students.</p><p>The bags are also to be given to 35,000 elementary pupils in Convergys&#x27; partner public schools and communities nationwide.</p><p>The ongoing distribution will finish at the start of the new year, generating approximately 10,000 employee volunteer hours.</p><p>GABOH is Convergys’ employee-driven CSR campaign that aims to help alleviate a major cause of school drop-outs: the lack of school supplies. Through this ongoing effort, more children are able to continue their studies.</p><p>For the last three years, the company’s employees in 34 centers donated portions of their salaries to fund the large-scale production and purchase of the abovementioned items.</p><p>This 2017, Convergys also partnered with social enterprises Bag943 and Tahanang Walang Hagdanan, which provide livelihood to disadvantaged individuals. These organizations produced and packed the bags of hope.</p><p>&quot;Since we started Give A Bag Of Hope in 2015, our goal has always been to help children have a fighting chance at their education, thereby giving them hope to pursue a brighter future.
