With her reputation as a prankster, it comes as no surprise that Ivana Alawi would unleash her wicked sense of humor on the set of A Family Affair. As her character Cherry Red punishes the Estrella brothers one by one, Ivana also prepared different scare tactics for each of her leading men.

In this episode of “Behind the Affair,” which lets us in on the show’s off-cam secrets, the sweet and affectionate Ate Cherry pranks her best friend Seb (Jake Ejercito) and the ‘bunso’ Drew (Jameson Blake).

First things first, the directors and production crew are aware of what was going on. For this particular act (the previous one was meant for Gerald Anderson), Ivana would struggle to keep a straight face in a breakdown scene with Jake and Jameson, then, blame them for her bloopers.

She’d burst into laughter, causing delays and re-takes. It was past 9 in the evening and the victims are tired. But here’s a co-star with an insane attitude pushing them to their limits.

Eager to finish the scene, they exhausted all means to support Ivana. They faced the wall so she won’t get distracted by the ‘funny’ faces. They passed on emotions by holding her hand. However they try, Ivana will never run out of annoying protests.

Jake was close to walking out, while Jameson appeared chill and innocent when director Raymund Ocampo revealed the prank.

During their media conference, Ivana mentioned that Jake is very light to hang out with and she can joke around with him without him getting mad. Meanwhile, she described Jameson as the ‘baby boy’ of the group, saying he asks a lot of questions whenever they bond together.

We will surely miss the Cherry and the Estrella brothers!
