London's The Artesian returns to fine form

<p>The recipient of the title of The World’s Best Bar for four years in a row from 2012, The Artesian in London’s The Langham hotel made waves around the world thanks to the creative bar team comprised of Alex Kratena and Simone Caporale. Their libations were like nothing before seen in the world of bartending - the drinks were avant-garde, surreal, whimsical, stunningly beautiful, and engaged all the senses. However, it’s been three years since the award-winning team left The Artesian and the bar has since fallen off the world’s top 50 list.</p><p>In May of this year, the newly appointed Head Bartender, Remy Savage took the helm and launched his first menu called Artesian Moments to much acclaim. As an avid traveller and student of philosophy, Savage brings a refreshing approach to the world of London mixology as he “playfully questions the drinking experience”.</p><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/ancx/food-n-drink/2018/08/the artesian/35721700_1764253693690757_2164154529199685632_n.jpg"/></figure></div><p>Savage’s debut menu pares down the flamboyant presentation and garnishing that The Artesian was known for and focuses on flavors instead. The menu celebrates life’s milestones with ingredients and scents that invoke some of our most potent memories. These tipples not only entice the palate but also encourage rich conversation and a stroll down memory lane.</p><div> </div><p>The bright and grassy drink “That moment when… you first rode a bike” is centered around Monkey 47 gin, citrus, gagnam tops and lavender. Its served alongside an iron sorbet which summons the taste of blood or handlebars or, perhaps, both. “That moment when… you fell in love”, on the other hand, is a dizzying, wild, and fire-filled cocktail of Michter’s Soursmash whiskey, rose, isolated chilli, and pomegranate.</p><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/ancx/food-n-drink/2018/08/the artesian/33366789_1729724553810338_635663973080891392_n.jpg"/></figure></div><p>Savage has helmed The Artesian for only a handful of months so only time will tell if his presence will help the bar climb back up the ladder of the world’s best.
