Covetous man Don Ignacio (Tommy Abuel) was doomed to cruel punishment, consumed by fire while still breathing as if his ashes are the best offering to the innocent souls he killed out of greed. As Don Ignacio, marvelously portrayed by veteran actor Tommy Abuel faced his downfall in the recent episode of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, Kapamilya Toplist rounded up his most hated scenes in the series.

Don Ignacio was revered by many as the most powerful man in the North, but he is the evilest too. He didn’t mind if the poor dies out of hunger. He often took advantage of them being powerless such as when he forced a group of farmers out of the land they won through a land reform program. When the farmers fought for their rights, Don Ignacio ordered to kill everyone, kids and women included, although the remnants would, later on, form a strong group of assassins.

But the earliest mass killing happened in San Andres where his daughter Aurora (Sharon Cuneta) eloped with Oscar (Rowell Santiago), who was then a poor fisherman. Don Ignacio despised Aurora’s relationship with Oscar, thinking the latter intends to take advantage of their name and wealth.

On the night he found out Aurora’s whereabouts, Don Ignacio brought his men to San Andres and ordered them to kill everyone until Aurora surrenders herself. The goons showed no mercy, killing even the infants, one of which was believed to be Aurora’s child.

Years later, Aurora returned from the States after hearing the news about Don Ignacio’s attempted assassination. She hasn’t forgiven him yet for all the evil he did. But she came home to check his condition.

However, Don Ignacio has no conscience that he can even manipulate his daughter. By threatening the doctor, he managed to convince Aurora that his days are numbered due to cancer. That way, Aurora’s guilt will compel her to stay.

Don Ignacio believes he is the ‘lord’ and he can get anything he wants especially revenge. Playing his cards well, he asked Lily (Lorna Tolentino) to bring President Oscar to him in exchange for his support of her candidacy. The old man was satisfied to the core when President Oscar went down on his knees and kissed his shoe, clueless that it wasn’t the real President but the imposter Mariano (Rowell Santiago).

Proving that he will never change his ways, Don Ignacio ordered his men to repeat the massacre at San Andres after learning that Aurora reunited and ran away with President Oscar again. However, his wickedness has failed as Aurora earns the courage to fight her father, leading to a chase scene.

Don Ignacio never had the chance to see Aurora again as Armando (John Estrada)’s group burned him alive.
