There can be a lot of reasons why a person grows the desire for vengeance. In the case of Armando (John Estrada), injustices and loss caused him to wish for the same misery, threefold even, toward the people who wronged him. In this Kapamilya Toplist, we re-tell the tragic events that transformed Armando from a peace-loving fisherman and farmer to a cruel assassin in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.

Armando, his family, and fellow farmers lived a quiet life until wealthy and influential men including Don Ignacio (Tommy Abuel) and Art (Tirso Cruz III) abused their vulnerability and forcefully took the lands they got through an agrarian reform program. The farmers tried to fight for their rights, resulting in bloodshed as Don Ignacio ordered his men to kill those who’d refuse to leave.

The incident planted the seeds of vengeance in Armando’s heart. From then on, he became the farmers’ leader. Another round of war opened when the farmers ambushed Don Ignacio’s convoy, although it wasn’t that successful since they’re outnumbered.

They needed weapons and funds to carry out their plans; hence, they attacked the mansion of Don Ignacio’s business partner, Don Iñigo. Upon killing the man and his wife, they decided to live in that mansion and take all of Don Iñigo’s wealth, to the point of turning into avaricious people.

Flashback scenes revealed more meat in Armando’s story and the reason why he’s eager to push his ‘daughter,’ Mara (Julia Montes), to assassinate Don Ignacio. The scenes were set in a coastal area where Armando and Lolita (Rosanna Roces) dwelled. In the same community lived Oscar (Rowell Santiago), who was then working as a fisherman.

Oscar eloped with Aurora (Sharon Cuneta), the sole heiress of Don Ignacio. Since Don Ignacio will never allow his daughter to marry a poor fisherman, he ordered the killing of all residents – from men to women and even children. Aurora left her infant under Lolita’s care. Meanwhile, Armando and Lolita’s real daughter died in the tragic massacre. In the wake of the horrible killing, Armando vowed to get justice for everyone who died, especially his innocent child. And real justice for him is to see Mara, Aurora and Oscar’s daughter, kill her own blood, Don Ignacio.

Apart from Don Ignacio and Art, also in the list of Armando’s targets is Oscar. He thought lives could’ve been spared if Oscar didn’t bring Aurora to that place. Flashback scenes also revealed that one major reason for their broken friendship is Aurora choosing Oscar over Armando.

The dark, miserable past, however, seems to have crossed the present as the farmers continue to suffer from Don Ignacio’s greed. Armando brought Cardo (Coco Martin) and the Task Force Agila in their small rural community. They learned stories of recent abuse and abduction ordered by Don Ignacio. Seething with anger, Armando’s group vowed to save the farmers, this time with the help of Cardo and the Task Force Agila.

Armando ordered Samuel (Michael Flores) and Lucas (Joseph Marco) to keep a close watch over Don Ignacio’s place. He further told his men to gear up for a major battle, so it’s going to be another week of intense scenes in the action-drama series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, aired weeknights, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and A2Z.
