In the past seven years, our favorite primetime hero Ricardo “Cardo” Dalisay has never been alone in his action-packed and thrilling journey in fighting the injustices and evil deeds in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano

He’s been surrounded by his ever-supportive friends, as well as by his dependable colleagues in every challenge and mission he had to go through. However, just like in every series and movies we’ve seen, the narrative wouldn’t be complete without the element of romance, right? Thus, throughout the course of Cardo’s epic and exciting journey, he didn’t only have one, but a number of gorgeous women who made his tough heart skip a beat.

And in the fourth episode of the program’s special series dubbed “FPJAP Balik-Tanaw,” we look back on six of Coco’s most notable leading ladies who indeed brought kilig and smiles onto our faces in the past seven years.

Of course, who would forget Cardo’s ever-reliable partner SPO1 Glenda “Glen” Corpuz, played by Maja Salvador? Many were surely able to relate with her since she was Cardo’s one and only best friend who developed an unrequited love on him. Their unlikely tandem had shared many unforgettable shenanigans as they took on various missions together, with their disguise inspired by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt in their 2005 flick “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” as one of the most unforgettable.

Aside from Maja, Bela Padilla was also in Cardo’s life in the first few months of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano as she portrayed Carmen, the widow of his twin brother Ador. In an interview, she recalled how that stint became her “test of fire” as she was so nervous and stressed out during that time was since it’s the project of her dreams.

“Ang ganda kasi ng dynamic ng characters na ginawa nila [o] sinulat nila for Carmen. Hindi lang ako nagde-deliver, I can also play around,” she stated.

Yam Concepcion became Coco’s love interest when Cardo joined the rebel group “Pulang Araw” led by Romulo “Leon/Pinuno” Dumaguit (Lito Lapid), the father of her character Lena.

And the lucky woman to completely capture his heart was journalist Alyana Arevalo, to whom he eventually got married and had a child with. Yassi Pressman was his leading lady for five years, until Alyana’s tragic death last year. In an exclusive interview, the actress revealed that most memorable scene for her was when Cardo kidnapped Alyana because they really it was so fun and spontaneous. She also enjoyed the series of sequences she did with the whole ensemble despite the difficulties they encountered.

Before taking flight as Darna, Jane de Leon had her skills in doing action scenes honed first by taking part in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano as P/Cpt. Lia Mante, a member of the Black Ops who’s tasked by the government to hunt down Task Force Agila. She may be perceived as a tough woman, but Lia actually has a soft heart according to Jane, which we’re also able to witness in the scenes she did.

And after years of waiting, the avid supporters’ wish to see him again opposite perennial loveteam partner Julia Montes in one screen was finally heard as the actress was welcomed to the show last year, along with other additional cast members. She’s tapped to play his new love interest Mara, the long-lost daughter of President Oscar Hidalgo (Rowell Santiago) with former flame Aurora Guillermo (Sharon Cuneta). Mara was among the members of the rebel group formed by her adoptive parents Armando (John Estrada) and Lolita (Rosanna Roces).

In their interview together last year for her much-awaited entrance to the show, Coco disclosed that he personally trained her on proper gun-handling, riding the motorcycle, and fight scenes. Julia supported this by saying, “Pero ever since naman, talagang naka-guide na siya kahit noong mga past shows ko na kailangan akong humawak ng baril. Nandiyan talaga siya nakatutok at nagtuturo.”
