Here’s why “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” is a must-watch series according to its cast members

<p>Primetime is going to be an exciting and explosive territory this 2023, with the lineup of Kapamilya programs to premiere this year. One of the most anticipated is Coco Martin and Lovi Poe&#x27;s “<a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/articles-news/coco-martin-set-to-return-on-primetime-with-fpjs-batang-quiapo-18602"><strong><u>FPJ’s Batang Quiapo</u></strong></a>.” </p><p>Besides it being a tribute to the legacy of National Artist for Film Fernando Poe Jr., who starred in the original 1986 film, the project also boasts a lofty ensemble cast and very Pinoy elements that will make for a pleasurable viewing experience.</p><p>Based on the title, the series will be shot mostly in the streets of Quiapo, which perfectly captures the lives of ordinary Pinoys, making it surely relatable and gratifying to see for the audience. “Exciting ‘yung story, parang makulay. Marami pang pwedeng mangyari sa paligid ng Quiapo,” said Allan Paule during the story conference.</p><p>Mercedes Cabral is proud to be part of the gigantic ensemble cast and looking forward to collaborating with everyone. Ping Medina is grateful to share this project with his father Pen Medina and to be reunited with Coco. kingpin Baldo (FPJ), who is determined to start a decent life after his time in prison. He meets a young female thief named Maria (Maricel Soriano) asking him to take her as an apprentice, but instead, he tries to put her on the right path.</p>
