Ever since ABS-CBN started producing heartwarming and LSS-inducing Christmas IDs over two decades ago, these, undoubtedly have been a part of our tradition, too. Aside from the celebrations, food, and gifts that we are going to receive, many of us also look forward on how the company will touch our hearts and make us sing along with its melodious tune.

ABS-CBN Christmas hymns have been part of the performances of carolers or choirs as they serenade us at our homes or at church, have been the go-to background music in huge parties and intimate celebrations, and have been played over and over again in many households as soon as the “ber-months” through the years.

But apart from these, some ardent Kapamilya fans have found other ways to enjoy ABS-CBN holiday anthems, as well as spread good vibes to other people by creatively and aptly using those in the video contents that they generate online – such as the ones we included in this feature!

Content creator 99seconds Trip shared on Facebook last November 21 a montage titled “Pasko Sa Dipolog 2022”, which featured what seemed to be the Christmas lighting ceremony at the city hall and plaza of the third-class component city and capital of Zamboanga del Norte. True to the name of his page, he was able to squeeze the clips he garnered from his walking tour around the vibrantly-lit venue into a 99-second video, with the ABS-CBN Christmas ID 2022 “Tayo Ang Ligaya Ng Isa't Isa” as the background song.

YouTuber “short highlights official” did the same with their documentation of how Christmas is this year at the humble town of Bayambang in Pangasinan. Public places, such as the plaza, amusement park, municipal halls, churches, and markets are currently decked with Christmas decorations and – from huge parols, bright lights in different colors, and DIY lanterns, to a tall Christmas tree wrapped in shining lights and topped with an enormous star.

Throngs of people, both little kids and kids at heart, also flocked to watch what seemed to be the launch of the town’s Christmas on Display, which was led by the family of former Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition 1 housemate and incumbent Bayambang mayor Niña Jose-Quiambao.

Meanwhile, dancer Carlo Balingit and his BMD Crew made us groove with their steps as they danced to the remix version of “Tayo Ang Ligaya Ng Isa’t Isa” in their dance video-slash-tutorial uploaded last November 22. To those who are still looking for an exciting and celebratory way to exercise and shake off those fats we have gained because of the series of parties that we attended, then you may have wanted to try it.

Of course, if there is dancing, there’s also singing! Since ABS-CBN Christmas IDs have been a significant part of our celebration ever year, many carolers have also included some of the Kapamlilya hymns in their lineup. Just like Facebook user and up-and-coming music artist Pipah Pancho, who serenaded us with a mash-up of Christmas hymns through a lyric video posted on October 21, 2021, in which “Ikaw Ang Liwanag At Ligaya” of 2020 and “Just Love Ngayong Christmas” (2017) were part of their setlist. We really wish that she’s going to do another one this year!

Pinoy nurses and talented couple WarCal and FrenSel, who are behind the YouTube channel Crazy Fun Duo, also had a wonderful collaboration with their fellow amazing singers around the world in the social singing app Smule as they covered the ABS-CBN Christmas 2022 anthem.

And while the netizens above used the ABS-CBN holiday anthems in their respective posts, our avid Kapamilya John Patrick Valencia, a.k.a. Truly Asia Diaries, who’s currently based in Malaysia, giddily imparted in his vlog last November how truly over the moon he is for being tapped to take part in the official music videos of “Ikaw Ang Liwanag At Ligaya” and “Tayo Ang Ligaya Ng Isa’t Isa”. He also shared how delighted and thrilled he was to be featured in a TV Patrol report, thanks to reporter Jeff Hernaez, as well as to be on the thumbnail of said video report that was shared on social media.

He went on to enthuse, “Super duper happy po, super duper saya to be part of this year’s Christmas station ID ng ABS-CBN. Super ganda talaga ng kanilang music video at ‘yong kanta mismo. Every year naman hinintay natin ‘yan, the storytelling, the storyline, and, of course, ‘yong lyrics ng kanta na talaga nga namang pasok na pasok sa puso ng bawat Pilipino.”
