Ivana responds to fan questions, talks about being bullied in her young years

There’s definitely no doubt that FPJ’s Batang Quiapo star Ivana Alawi is one of the most beautiful faces in local showbiz at present. However, did you know that she actually used to be bullied in her younger years?

That was what she revealed in her guesting in the latest vlog of content creator Euleen Castro, more popularly known as “Pambansang Yobab,” wherein the two of them had to respond to a few fan questions while doing a king crab mukbang – as requested by Euleen and her throngs of social media followers.

“Sobra. Sobra akong na-bully noong elementary [at] high school kasi raw hindi ako maganda. To the point na ayaw kong pumasok sa school kasi lagi nila akong inaasar na hindi maganda, mukha raw akong hindi Pilipino, tapos English-speaking kasi lumaki ako sa ibang bansa, so hindi ako marunong mag-Tagalog. So ‘yon, kada papasok ako sa school, hiyang-hiyang ako talaga,” Ivana recounted, then imparted that she handled it by deciding to stop going to school.

As Euleen mentioned that she used to eat inside the school comfort room to hide from her bullies, the Kapamilya actress revealed going through the same plight, as well as having to hold her pee because she was too shy to ask herself if she could go out. After so many years, Ivana related that her bullies messaged her to apologize, which she had already forgiven, even though they could no longer repair the damages that they’d done to her.

“Of course, napatawad ko na sila, wala na akong galit sa kanila and they also made me stronger. Kaya kung kaya, guys, iwasan,” she said. “Usually kasi ang mga bully, insecure sila e. So, they want to make others feel insecure. So, doon nila dinadaan.”

Although Ivana was born with a silver spoon in her mouth, she disclosed experiencing a modest life when she went here to the Philippines to follow her mom. It might be far from the lush life that she used to have in Bahrain, but it made her realize that it was a struggle in real life that she had to fight and strive hard to survive.
