The year 2018 was apparently one of the most memorable ones for both fast-rising stars Kaori Oinuma and Jeremiah Lisbo because that was when their respective careers in showbiz began. Kaori, as we all know, was among the Batch 1 teen housemates of “Pinoy Big Brother Otso” season, while Jeremiah started out as a commercial model for a famous fastfood chain and a fashion model for a local clothing brand and a global online fashion and lifestyle retailer.

It was between 2019 and 2020 when their paths apparently first intertwined, as both of them were among the thirteen young actors selected to be part of the Rise Artists Studio, a talent agency developed under Star Cinema. Over the past six years, they’d already worked on four projects together, two of which they were paired with one another.

And this 2024, fans of the KaoMiah loveteam are surely delighted to see them get reunited in the upcoming series “Halfmates,” which marks their first-ever team-up solo project that will be broadcast on ABS-CBN’s YouTube channel this October.

As the KaoMiah ship is about to set sail anew through this reunion project of theirs, let’s look back on some of their acting projects together in this feature!

The Four Bad Boys and Me (2020)

Amidst the circumstances that we’d gone through, ABS-CBN Studios and Star Cinema were unstoppable in serving avid supporters with entertainment by producing content online, such as “The Four Bad Boys and Me”. It was based on the Wattpad story written by “Blue Maiden” and was the first-ever digital project of the film outfit that took the form of a hybrid podcast/video series.

It follows the journey of the nerdy and loner Candice Gonzales, whose once quiet life turned into a whirlwind of dilemmas after she got involved with the notorious “Four Bad Boys,” comprised by Jeydon Lopez (Rhys Miguel), Marky Lim (Jeremiah Lisbo), Charles Gonzales (Mark Rivera), and Troy (Aljon Mendoza). Their group usually got into her nerves because of how they bullied her, except for Marky, whom she has fallen head over heels in love with since she found him dreamy, talented, and charming. But in the end, it was Jeydon with whom Candice ended up.

Love at First Stream (2021)

In 2021, Kaori and Jeremiah were paired with each other for the first time in the romantic-comedy movie “Love at First Stream,” which was part of the Metro Manila Film Festival that year. It served as Kaori’s first-ever movie, while Jeremiah’s latest movie to date, wherein they played the roles of Megumi and Gino, who from being mere online friends went on to become romantic partners.

He’s Into Her Season 1 and 2 (2021-2022)

They then got to work together again in two seasons of the well-loved teen drama series “He’s Into Her,” but they only had a few scenes together. Jeremiah played the role of Randall “RJ” Echavez, the estranged best friend of Maxpein (Belle Mariano) and the stiffest rival of Deib (Donny Pangilinan). On the other hand, Kaori breathed life to Michiko Sil Tarranza, one of the closest friends of Maxpein.

Fractured (2023)

And just last year, they were back to bringing kilig, as well as respite and thrill to everyone, especially their supporters, as they starred in the iWantTFC original series “Fractured.” They played the roles of Ron and Yanni, a couple whose relationship and love for each other were put to the test during their sojourn at a remote island together with other social media influencers.

Aside from making us kilig their oozing chemistry, can we mention that their first onscreen kiss also happened in this series?

This 2024, prepare to invest your emotions on KaoMiah as they reunite to win our hearts anew with their team-up in the upcoming online series “Halfmates,” which promises to not only make us kilig, but also to provide viewers with good vibes, heartwarming moments, and fresh take on relationships.
