Karina’s Raya was born to a Japanese dad and a Filipina mom. She and mom Lupe, played by Anna Luna, would fly back to the Philippines to claim their inheritance from her grandmother until they’re forced to stay for good. Dark lipstick and thick eyeliner – her visual screams ‘palaban,’ but deep inside, she struggles with the discrimination against her family.

What will happen when the happy-go-lucky Chris crosses her path?

Chris is an obedient son yet he feels laden with too much pressure, as his father Jess, played by Rafa Siguion-Reyna, forces him to pursue a dream that he doesn’t want. Thanks to Raya, he’ll find his voice and the guts to chase what his heart truly beats for.

Also in the cast is Ashley del Mundo as Nikka, the neighborhood Queen Bee and Raya’s number-one hater. She’s joined by her bully friend played by Angela Tungol.

Batit Espiritu is Patrick, the gay cousin of Chris; while Apey Obera is Dyosa.

Catch “Hex Boyfriend” starting October 20, at 6pm, on ABS-CBN Entertainment’s YouTube channel.

This marks the loveteam’s big comeback after their last series together, “Viral Scandal,” in 2021. Karina and Aljon shot to fame after joining Pinoy Big Brother Otso, and have starred in a slew of Kapamilya shows including “Hoy, Love You,” “Ampalaya Chronicles: Labyu Hehe,” and “MMK: Lalabs Ko ‘To.”
