It’s been a month since “Zoomers” made us smile, cry, and fall in love. We certainly miss Jiggs and Hope’s barkada! Thanks to Director Theodore “Ted” Boborol, we got servings of behind-the-scenes footage which not only satiates our longing for the “Zoomers” squad but also gives us a glimpse of how the series was made.

In the first video shared by Direk Ted on his YouTube channel, we see the young stars as they prepare and enjoy breakfast at their taping location. Direk Ted mentions that he’s only there to oversee the actual filming as he isn’t directing the show, having only been involved in casting the stars during the audition phase. We can tell that a big part of Direk Ted’s calling is to help neophytes reach for their dreams in the industry, evident in his unwavering support for the group of young stars throughout the selection process and the actual shoot.

Director Chad Vidanes, at the helm of the series, and who was also part of the panel that selected the cast, arrived and made sure work begins with a prayer. He urges his actors not to hesitate to ask questions as his entire team would be willing to assist them.

Krystl Ball and Zabel Lamberth were the first to film for the series, which means the shoot did not follow a chronological order. Later, you will see that the opening scene inside the classroom was actually shot on the final day.

Also spotted in the clip is Ralph de Leon, who admitted that he was feeling uneasy in front of the cameras, but was confident that he would eventually become more comfortable. Kei Kurosawa likewise owned up to the jitters, and said she felt guilty for fighting with Krystl in a scene.

While going over the script, Luke Alford reminisces his first encounter with Direk Ted when he was just a child actor auditioning for a role in the movie “Vince Kath and James.” Direk Ted couldn’t believe how young Luke was at that time.

Much like in a typical high school setting, the second day proved to be more enjoyable as the young actors began to relax and shake off their nerves. Harvey Bautista and Criza Taa, as Jiggs and Hope, respectively, are seen filming their confrontation in a coffee shop.

During downtime, the boys share good vibes by jamming together. Zach Castaneda playfully stays in character even off-camera – or should we call it method acting? Even Luis Vera Perez displayed a strong commitment to his role of Dino, as Direk Ted noted that he didn’t easily break out of his character.

In the second reel, Criza grants BTS interviews while the boys listen on the side, playfully reacting to her answers, then ‘asaran’ echoes inside the room when she mentions Harvey.

The video cuts to their final day of shooting at a university, with Direk Ted taking charge of one sequence for a product intrusion. Surprise! That scene of Criza inside her bedroom was actually filmed in a portion of the classroom transformed by the production designers to resemble a real bedroom.

Direk Ted talks about feeling nervous as it has been months since his last directorial job. However, we witness how he gives his actors motivation and helps them dive deeper into their characters’ emotions.

Ahh! We all miss the “Zoomers” barkada! The best remedy we could think of is watching these behind-the-scenes videos.
