When you think of what’s at the center of the Hashtags members’ solid friendship, it comes down to respect and understanding, aside from sharing the same kind of humor. They may be funny at all times but they’re serious about keeping their friendship for a lifetime.

With that, they stick to what gentlemen call “The Bro Code.” In this episode of Kapamilya Chat, Hashtags members Nikko Natividad, Zeus Collins, and Kid Yambao shared a no-holds-barred discussion about the rule that ‘bros’ should never, ever break.

First things first, they mused about their solid bond, chalking it up with genuine love and acceptance. “Mahalin mo ang mga kaibigan mo hindi dahil convenient lang. Dapat maging fair ka, ‘yung hindi lang laging pabor sa’yo. Dapat give and take," said Nikko.

Kid seconded, “Huwag mong tinitingnan ang kaibigan mo kung ano ‘yung status niya sa buhay. Huwag mong hayaang kainin ka ng ganu’ng sistema at saka dapat pantay-pantay ang tingin mo sa kanila.”

Besides “pakikisama,” Zeus believes that a simple “pangungumusta” will grow seeds of affection among friends, “Kapag libre ‘yung isa o dalawa, nagkukumustahan at nagkikita-kita kami. Hindi man sabay-sabay.” Honesty is also a non-negotiable in their friendship.

Moving forward, they shared their opinion on whether guys must keep their friends’ whereabouts from an inquisitive girlfriend. Zeus emphasized that this is no problem among them as they know their friends have nothing to hide, “Sinasabi ko talaga kung nasaan kasi alam ko naman na walang ginagawang masama ‘yung mga kaibigan ko.”

“Ang tawag do’n cover-me-up,” quipped Nikko; prompting Kid to add in jest, “Kunwari ‘pag sinabi sa akin ni Nikko, ‘Huwag mong sabihin na nandito ako, ah,’ hindi ko sasabihin.”

One of the most debated male friendship etiquette is to never date a bro’s ex-girlfriend, on which the Hashtags members have varied opinions. Zeus and Kid pressed that it’s a no-no, considering the bond and respect and how awkward the situation would be. “Kahit na naaakit ka sa ex, hindi, kasi magkakaibigan tayo. ‘Pag lalabas tayo, magkakasama tayo. Kumbaga awkward,” pressed Zeus.

But, to not offend the romantics who say you can’t choose who to fall in love with, Nikko acknowledged all possibilities, “Paano kung nakatadhana pala kayong dalawa pero napipigilan dahil sa Bro Code?”

Are they willing to act as their friend’s wingman? Well, yes. Zeus revealed that he was one of Ronnie Alonte and Loisa Analio’s cupids at that time when their groups used to perform on It’s Showtime, where LoiNie developed special feelings for each other. “Lagi ko silang inaasar. Ako nga ‘yung nagpangalan ng LoiNie, eh. Kaya ‘yung mga fans nina Ronnie at Loisa, ako daw ‘yung president,” he smiled, with Nikko and Kid hyping him up with their hilarious side comments.

To cap it off, Nikko, Zeus, and Kid shared that Hashtags is like a real family that inevitably goes through conflict and misunderstandings “pero sa huli, magkakaunawaan."
