Nothing beats “first times,” right? Regardless if you have done something a number of times already, some of us probably are still reeling from that moment when we experienced it for the first time. Just like the first kisses of our favorite onscreen pairs, which indeed brought kilig to our hearts because of how truly sweet those are despite being a bit quick.

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, we compiled seven of the short yet satisfying first kisses of loveteams that we’ve seen on television in this feature!

Nadine Lustre and James Reid, On The Wings Of Love

After starring in a couple of films, Nadine and James finally scored their teleserye debut via the 2015 romantic-comedy drama On The Wings Of Love. They truly endeared us with their portrayal of young overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) Leah Olivar and Clark Medina, who agreed to a marriage of convenience in order for her to obtain a visa, which would allow her to extend her stay in the United States while looking for jobs and for her estranged mom, whom her family already presumed dead.

During a dinner with a Filipino community, Leah and Clark, who just wed that time, were asked to describe one another and talk about their marriage, to which both of them enthusiastically obliged. They capped off their speech with their first official kiss since the first one they had was merely an accident.

Julia Montes and Coco Martin, Walang Hanggan

It might be their first time to work together in the 2012 classic soap opera Walang Hanggan, not to mention be teamed up with each other, but Julia and Coco were able to amazingly exude palpable chemistry as they portrayed Katerina Alcantara and Daniel Guidotti, who came from two warring families. Their relationship might have gone through a lot of setbacks and challenges, yet they were able to conquer those and got married in the end. Of course, in every nuptial, there’s always a kiss to seal the deal between husband and wife.

Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, Pangako Sa ‘Yo

Even though they already starred together in a number of projects prior to their stints in the 2015 remake of Pangako Sa ‘Yo, it was only Kathryn and Daniel’s first time to share a smooch onscreen as they took on the millennial versions of iconic star-crossed lovers Yna Macaspac and Angelo Buenavista, originally played by Kristine Hermosa and Jericho Rosales.

Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia, Ngayon At Kailanman

Another onscreen kiss that surprised and perplexed us at the same time was of Joshua and Julia, which happened in the finale of their teleserye Ngayon At Kailanman in 2019. The love story of their characters Eva and Inno was also a case of “you and me against the world” as many of the people around them are against their relationship, including his brother Oliver, (Jameson Blake), who gunned them down out of jealousy. The couple got reunited in the afterlife wherein they had the chance to exchange vows and have their first-ever kiss. However, just when their lips were about to touch, a blinding bright light shined on them, which hindered us from seeing that golden moment.

Janella Salvador and Joshua Garcia, The Killer Bride

And Joshua didn’t just have one, but two entries in this feature! As we all know, he also got paired with Janella Salvador in the well-loved gothic drama The Killer Bride, wherein they totally endeared us with their impressive portrayals and unmistakable chemistry as Elias and Emma. From being friends, the two eventually developed feelings toward each other, which finally got sealed as they kissed during their picnic date. Unbeknown to them, that sweet moment was caught by Emma’s mom Camila (Maja Salvador) and her adoptive dad Fabio (Miko Raval).

Which of these short yet sweet kisses are remarkable for you, Kapamilya?
