The heart of Canada was buzzing with excitement as the cast and crew of “Hello Love Again” touched down for their 12th day of shooting. Nestled in Calgary’s stunning landscapes, the project, had reached nearly the halfway mark. With a mix of excitement and anticipation, Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards were hard at work, along with other key cast members Joross Gamboa, Valerie Concepcion, and Jennica Garcia, who brought infectious energy to each scene.

In an interview with MJ Felipe, Alden shared the intensity of what lay ahead, revealing that they were about to film major scenes featuring a lot of talent. He expressed how overwhelmed they felt by the enthusiastic presence of fellow Pinoys.

“Very accommodating din naman tayo sa kanila, siyempre, especially Direk Cathy,” he said, expressing admiration for director Cathy Garcia-Molina’s warmth in welcoming the fans who gathered to support them.

Adding to the thrill of the project, Jennica shared her excitement. “This is my first with Star Cinema, una rin kay Direk Cathy tapos big stars ‘yung kasama natin dito,” she beamed, emphasizing what a meaningful opportunity it was for her.

Most of the scenes were set in Canada, with some portions involving Alden filmed in Hong Kong. The contrast in settings provided an emotional weight to the scenes, as Alden noted that many moments were heavy and intense.

This was their first outdoor shoot involving a larger ensemble, which Kathryn described as a refreshing change from the usual intimate settings. “Usually kami-kami lang,” she shared.

Direk Cathy wasted no time, briefing the actors meticulously before calling for “Action!” Yet, as often happens in outdoor shoots, nature had its plans. The cast and crew were forced to pause as unexpected rain poured down, a hurdle they learned to overcome with patience.

Once the skies cleared, they resumed filming, with MJ noting that Direk Cathy was hands-on and highly detailed, guiding each scene with precision. In a heartwarming surprise, ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo Katigbak made a personal visit to the set, boosting the morale of everyone present.

Despite the challenges, both Kathryn and Alden felt the project was worth every hardship. For them, “Hello Love Again” was not only a rewarding experience but also a testament to their passion for storytelling. With limited time, they poured their hearts into the film, promising viewers a cinematic experience filled with genuine emotion.

Don’t miss the unfolding of Joy and Ethan’s love story in Canada in “Hello, Love, Again,” available in cinemas beginning November 13.
