AlJay will make you kilig with their sweet confessions in this Lie Detector Challenge

More than just chemistry, what truly makes Aljon Mendoza and Jayda so endearing to watch is that they are unguarded. In this episode of Teen Clash EXTRAS, they weren’t scared to maintain eye contact and show other little gestures that mean they consider each other special. ‘Kilig’ soared high just on the first question where she asked him, “Happy ka ba ‘pag kasama ako?” He answered, “Oo naman!” Well, it’s the truth according to the toy polygraph.

Jayda admitted to feeling awkward with Aljon sometimes, but only to be shocked by the lie detector machine, meaning it was read as a lie. She explained, “Siyempre ‘pag sa eksena bilang first time ko. pero feeling ko ngayon mas sanay na ako.” Aljon can speak the same.

He bravely revealed that he feels ‘kilig’ whenever they have scenes together. Although he knew he was being honest, the lie detector made a protest. “Kinikilig ako pero kinakabahan lang ako,” he justified that his hands were sweating, which might have influenced the machine’s reaction.

Taking on her turn, Jayda boldly said yes when asked if it’d be okay with her to go out with him, “Oo. Bakit naman hindi?” She didn’t flinch after a slight shock, but Aljon was caring enough to soothe her hands.

We’re curious to know that one thing Aljon wants to tell Jayda. Hmmm. Meanwhile, Jayda disclosed that they had a slight ‘tampuhan’ when he forgot to update if he has come home safe after their taping, to which Aljon reacted, “Pinagbayaran ko ‘yun ng ilang araw.”

They also talked about first impressions and admitted they never thought they’d be this close. “Sobrang empowered ka and alam mo ‘yung gusto mo. Alam mo ‘yung ginagawa mo, so sobrang ang ganda makita sa’yo ‘yun,” he declared, looking her in the eye. But, “Siyempre ako, probinsyano ako. And hindi ko pa alam ugali mo that time and feeling ko hindi tayo magma-match. Pero tingnan mo naman ngayon.”

Jayda echoed the same sentiment, “We connected really well, unexpectedly as well.” She added that they first met at ABS-CBN’s Christmas Special in 2021. Even though they weren’t yet cast as Zoe and Ice at the time, Aljon was friendly with Jayda and he even messaged her after the event.

In the next round, he asked, “Do you find me special?” And when she answered yes, confirmed by the machine, he professed, “Ikaw din, special ka sa akin.” Lastly, though electrified, Aljon guaranteed that he finds Jayda attractive.
