Since several biopics were released in recent years, we asked a few Kapamilya stars who are the historical figures they wish to portray in a biopic if given the chance and why. Screaming girl power were Gela Atayde, Lovi Poe, and Yeng Constantino, who expressed their interest in depicting the patriotism of Gabriela Silang, who’s also dubbed the “Joan of Arc of Ilocandia.” She was a fearless Filipina revolutionary who remains a symbol of women's empowerment as she showed courage and defiance against oppression during the Spanish era here in the Philippines.

“Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11” alumnus Binsoy Namoca opted for Lapu-Lapu as he admires his bravery as one of the first Filipino heroes to fight Spanish invaders who occupied Cebu in the 1500s.

Binsoy’s bestfriend Jarren Garcia, meanwhile, wished to play national hero Jose Rizal because he knows that he still has so much to learn from him, considering that “Ang Charming Crooner ng London” spent most of his life abroad. Besides, Rizal is one of the greatest heroes in the Philippines, and it will be a great experience to be in his shoes, at least in a film.

The same with James Reid, who said that aside from he’s a hero, there are also people who comment that he and Rizal kind of look alike, so he assumes that he can pull the role off. “ASAP” mainstay Jameson Blake wanted to play Rizal as well, but he knows to himself that he has to polish and enrich his Tagalog first.
