Fresh from the success of “Dirty Linen,” Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin take on a new acting challenge, this time, starring in a mystery-thriller series titled “Fractured” in iWantTFC.

The Kapamilya loveteam only had two weeks to take some rest and prepare for their transition from “Dirty Linen” to “Fractured” taping. Francine mentioned that she was still carrying Chiara’s (her “Dirty Linen” character) “maarte” ways during their early days on the set of “Fractured,” hence her conscious effort to remind herself that Chiara and Sally (in “Fractured”) are different characters. The rich Chiara Fiero is a stark contrast to the low-key and my quite enigmatic Sally, a videographer invited to join a group of influencers on a mysterious island.

She mentioned that even their co-star Raven Rigor had the same experience transitioning from the perennially miffed Clint in “Dirty Linen” to the chill and quiet Tony in “Fractured.”

Meanwhile, Seth plays Oca, the street-smart guy and ultimate prankster of the group. While it’s easy to assume that Oca resembles Nico (his “Dirty Linen”) character, Seth maintained that the former is more playful and “kayang gumawa ng masama.” Francine butted in, “Walang gabay kasi si Oca, walang magulang. Pero, feeling ko, ang similarity nila ni Nico is mapagmahal and hopeful siya na anak.”

Aside from Raven, the tandem is also reunited with their “Dirty Linen” co-stars Jennica Garcia and Sean Tristan. They’re also working with Rise artists Daniela Stranner, Jeremiah Lisbo, and Kaori Oinuma. The two groups merged into one, and they can call it an unexpected friendship.
“Nakatulong sa amin ‘yun para mas mapagaan ‘yung trabaho, mas mapadali. Kapag pagod na kaming lahat, tumatawa lang kami. ‘Pag tahimik na ‘yung isa, lolokohin namin,” Francine said of their off-cam dynamic. The tandem also felt comfortable with Mylene Dizon as well, their co-star in “Huwag Kang Mangamba.”

Staying in an island resort, called “Bella Vista” in the story, the cast felt like enjoying a working vacation as a ‘barkada.’ “Mahirap siya pero worth it kasi naging masaya kami at marami kaming natutunan,” Francine shared, adding that “Fractured” is a challenging series due to the physically exhausting scenes, at the same time, the emotional baggage carried by their characters. In some instances as well, the creatives would revise the script on the spot, which, in turn, solidifies everyone’s teamwork.

Review the scene in the trailer where Seth scared Francine with a toy snake. She said that her reaction was unscripted, unaware of the cameras around them. She then switched to Sally upon realizing what was going on. Such spontaneity sharpens these young actors’ promptness in a scene.

Asked to describe “Fractured”, Seth called it timely and definitely worth watching. He noted that people nowadays would do anything for content and online stardom, to the point of dragging others down. Thus, viewers, especially aspiring content creators, will learn a thing or two from the show.

In that vein, the on-screen pair shared their advice to aspiring social media influencers, imparting the value of respect and making wise choices, especially since kids are already active on social media these days.

Meanwhile, Francine said that “Fractured” can be taken literally, as they suffered from physical injuries from filming. But it also has a deeper, figurative meaning, and it’s for the viewers to find out.

Catch “Fractured every Friday at 8 pm on the iWantTFC app and iWantTFC’s YouTube channel.
