Jessy Mendiola might be a popular celebrity, but when it comes to motherhood, she’s like the rest of moms dealing with its joys and magic and chaos. In a recent vlog episode titled “Spend The Day With Me” on YouTube, the actress got candid about her typical day as a new mom to the adorable Isabella Rose, or Rosie or Peanut as she likes to call her. The glowing mommy started the day with her power booster – coffee. She mentioned that she was sleep-deprived the previous night due to worrying too much about Rosie’s temperature after her vaccine shot. “Praning lang,” she smiled, and we bet all moms out there could relate to Jessy’s anxiety. The good thing is she’s surrounded by people who generously pass on their knowledge. After all, it takes a village to raise a child. “Thankful ako na malakas ‘yung support system ko pagdating kay Rosie, kasi ako, mabilis ako kabahan.” She asks questions to more experienced moms and takes mental notes as much as she can.“Nakakakaba pag first-time mom ka talaga. At the same time, nakakatuwa kasi ang dami mong nadi-discover about your baby and yourself.”In this video, we can see Jessy’s raw experiences as a hands-on new mom. She changes Rosie’s diaper, plays with her, reads her stories, and puts her to sleep. She’s also found hacks through mobile applications. There’s an app where she tallies the amount of milk that Rosie consumes. These mini-activities comprise almost half of Jessy and Rosie’s day. After an hour, the baby woke up from her nap time, greeted by her dad, Luis Manzano, who just arrived from work. The couple would take turns carrying Rosie, so Jessy could have little breaks, although she has to move fast since Rosie loves to cling to her.After lunchtime, Jessy prepared Rosie for her afternoon nap. The baby slept for two hours straight that afternoon. Then, it was time to change her diaper again after waking up. Jessy said that caring for a newborn is quite repetitive, and it seems she’s already got the hang of it. Their nanny, Ate Gina, arrived that afternoon, so Jessy took a 5-minute break, while Luis thought of eating out in a restaurant near their village. “Hindi dapat mawawala ang lambing sa mga magulang,” he said as he cuddled Jessy. However, the momma was exhausted she had to beg off and promised instead to set a dinner date with her ‘how how’ soon. Sometimes moms are compelled to pretend that motherhood is perfect, glamorous, and aesthetic, especially on social media, but here’s Jessy acknowledging that it can be exhausting and a life on repeat. And that’s okay.
