Jodi and Joshua explore Chocolate Factory in Switzerland, plus lunch date

Chocolate alone is a guaranteed mood booster, but when enjoyed with a friend, you’ll feel giddier with delight. In this behind-the-scenes video, Unbreak My Heart stars Jodi Sta Maria and Joshua Garcia enjoyed tasting chocolates and learning about its fascinating history at the Chocolate Factory in Zurich, Switzerland.

The tandem was welcomed by a giant chocolate fountain inside. They were given audio guides that would automatically switch languages and provide them with information about the different parts of the museum. Jodi was amazed to learn that fungi provide nutrients to the roots of a cocoa tree, which deepens and grows up to two meters long.

They tried making chocolate and Joshua realized it’s not that easy. Of course, the experience wouldn’t be complete without tasting the world-famous Swiss chocolate in different varieties. Their favorite was dark chocolate, which was surprisingly sweet than bitter. The milk variety was too sweet for them, as well as the white chocolate that has milk, cow butter, and tons of sugar. Joshua thought of mixing dark and white chocolate. The verdict? He liked it, while Jodi didn’t as she thought the combination was even sweeter.

They tasted more chocolates and then reflected about the experience. “Nakakatuwa kasi ‘yung isang character natin dito sa ‘Unbreak My Heart,’ si Luz, nagtatrabaho siya sa chocolate factory na pag-aari ng asawa niya,” Jodi said of Nikki Valdez’s character in the series. Meanwhile, Joshua’s greatest learning was to not take home chocolates from the museum, “Kanina excited ako kumuha pero pinagbawalan ako. Not for take away daw.”

The Chocolate Factory tour was then followed by a lunch date in a restaurant in Zurich Old Town. Joshua ordered sliced veal with crispy rusty, which is the favorite of Jodi’s character in the series. Meanwhile, Jodi had poached cauliflower with slices of chicken breasts, which was a total treat to look at.

Before leaving, they explored the displays inside the restaurant and learned that it is already 600 years old, and used to be a kill house, hence, the axes on the wall. They also found a painting, which is a replica of the original one from 600 years ago.

Jodi and Joshua then had typical ‘tourist’ moments aka getting lost, that’s why they missed the first train going back to Luzern. They paid for new tickets and, thankfully, were able to catch the train this time.
