We asked some Kapamilya personalities, “Does love change a person?” And the most dominant answer we got was “yes.”It does change a person, but, as KD Estrada and Alexa Ilacada put it, “in good and bad ways.” Let’s start with the beautiful, fulfilling changes love can bring.<a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/THEIRoNHEART">The Iron Heart</a> star Anthony Jennings explained it using as an example how parents become more mature and nurturing because of their love for their kids. “Habang bata pa sila, nagagawa pa nila ‘yung mga bagay na gusto nila. Pero once nagkaroon sila ng anak, medyo nagbabago ‘yung timpla ng personality nila. ‘Yung pakikisama nila sa ibang tao, medyo may nababawasan pero may maganda din naman na dumadagdag.”He added, “Nagbabago din talaga ang tao once na magkaroon ng love interest. Maraming bagay, like, sa mga kaibigan. Once na nagkaroon ka talaga ng matinding foundation sa pagmamahal n’yo, medyo magbabago din ‘yung pananaw ninyo sa buhay. Lalo na kung green flag naman ‘yung partner mo, may mga matututunan ka rin sa reality mo.”When you have a significant other to support you, it speaks wonders to your soul. Gretchen Fullido thought, “I think love inspires you, brings out the best in you. Well, sana ‘yun ang purpose bakit ka na-in love. Siyempre, you choose to be in a relationship because you want to be with that person and, of course, if ever you change, sana it’s for the better. Both of you should grow individually and as a couple.”“With love, people change for the good,” said Robi Domingo.For Cherry Pie Picache, “With love, one can do so much and one can give so much. It doesn’t always have to be romance. But, one can give, one can forgive, consider, compromise.”Jim Paredes and Buboy Garrovillo’s wise words are also nice to ponder: “It doesn’t change the person; the person discovers himself. “ And, this statement from Irma Adlawan: “It should enhance you, add to whatever you are.”People can do things they never thought they could, Coco Martin explained, “Lahat naman ng tao ‘pag nagmamahal, parang naglalaho lahat. Sabi nga nila, minsan tayong mga tao nabubulag tayo dahil sa pag-ibig. Willing tayong mag-adjust dahil doon sa taong mahal natin.” The <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/batangquiapo">FPJ’s Batang Quiapo</a> lead actor underscored the need to follow the mind, more than the heart, when making decisions.Toni Fowler believes people change depending on the love they receive, “Kung ano ‘yung treatment na nararamdaman mo from your minamahal, it affects you – your life, kung paano ka. Nakakabago talaga siya ng ikot ng mundo mo.” A healthy relationship leads a person to the right path, while a toxic one sparks negative changes in the person’s behavior.<a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/dirtylinen">Dirty Linen</a> star Jennica Garcia talked about the pain that comes with love and how it shapes a person’s mindset, “’Pag nasaktan ka, magkakaroon talaga ng pagbabago – pagbabago sa standards mo, on what you want in a partner, and sa sarili mo rin. Automatic, you want to improve yourself.”Mercedes Cabral shared a similar realization: “May mga nakilala ako sa buhay ko na nagbago dahil sa pag-ibig negatively and positively. Minsan dahil sa pag-ibig nagiging tanga ka masyado at nakakalimutan mo ‘yung sarili mo. But at the same time, pag nare-realize mo ‘yung mga hindi magandang pangyayari out of that experience, natututo ka rin na, parang, paano pa mas maging mapag-unawa at paano ‘yung tamang paraan para magmahal.”Let’s explore the Gen Zs’ thoughts about this topic. Mutya Orquia imparted that love changes a person, but that change should come naturally, “Hindi dapat pinipilit ‘yung tao na magbago para sa’yo. Kasi kung love ka nu’ng tao, siya ‘yung magkukusa na, ‘I want to be better for her.’”Zaijian Jaranilla agreed and emphasized that a relationship must make both persons grow. He also added that love can change even a person’s mood, “’Pag in love ka, nakikita mo na happy or blooming ang isang tao. ‘Pag broken naman, nakikita mo na parang medyo down.”Loisa Andalio and Ronnie Alonte expressed that love’s ability to change a person doesn’t just apply to romantic relationships, but also to family and friends. Jona thought so, too, “For me, kapag totoo kang nagmamahal, eh, you will sacrifice things para doon sa tao na ‘yun para maging masaya siya at maging maayos ‘yung relationship ninyo.”Couple Norvin and Lovely Jimenez had funny but relatable answers. He said, “Mula po no’ng nakilala ko si Lovely, malaki po ‘yung pinagbago ko. Dati po akong nakakagala, ngayon hindi na po,” to which she retorted, “Dati hindi ako mainitin ang ulo ko pero ngayon napapainit niya ulo ko.”“Too much of one thing is not a good thing. But sometimes it can be good,” Jed Madela mused, meaning love can have either a positive or negative impact on a person. Tirso Cruz III believes likewise, but he’d rather dwell on the beautiful and magical things that love can do. For McCoy de Leon, one of the benefits of love is it makes you selfless, “When you love someone, you’ll forever want to make her happy.” And as humans, love is one of the most important emotions that we crave to feel, as Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin stated, “’Pag hindi ka nagmamahal, hindi ka tao.” It&#x27;s like what John Estrada professed: “Love moves the world.”Bobot Mortiz, Marco Gumabao, Lito Lapid, Mark Lapid, and Smugglaz also shared their answers in the video. In a nutshell, they answered “yes” to our question and hoped these changes are for the better.Now, it is safe to say that love truly changes a person.
