With the constant stream of new talents, not to mention the multitude of artists who are already in the entertainment industry, it’s arguably a challenge for celebrities to prove themselves and stay in the spotlight. Thus, it’s absolutely amazing how there are some who are able to withstand the grueling yet fulfilling demands of show business and continue to shine as the years go by.

Kathryn Bernardo

First off is Kathryn, who started her career 19 years ago as the young Cielo San Carlos in the 2003 classic series It Might Be You.She went on to portray the younger counterparts of top Kapamilya leading ladies in teleserye and even became one at a young age when she played the adorable yet snotty Maya in the kiddie superhero series Super Inggo in 2006.

From being one of the pioneers of Goin’ Bulilit, she eventually became one of the most in-demand teen stars of her generation, with the 2013 series Got To Believe as one of her most remarkable projects. Her stint in La Luna Sangre had proven her versatility and caliber as an actress, as well as attested that she’s now one of the biggest leading ladies in the country. And as she celebrates the 10th anniversary of her team-up with reel-to-real sweetheart Daniel Padilla, they’re bound to make us kilig all over again in their much-awaited teleserye comeback 2 Good 2 Be True.

Alexa also began her acting 14 years ago as a bulilit. After her graduation in 2013, she was able to showcase her impressive acting chops in a slew of TV shows, with Luv U (2013), Bagito (2014), The Good Son (2017), The Killer Bride (2019), and Init Sa Magdamag (2021) as among her most remarkable projects.

Last year, she embarked on an unforgettable journey by joining Pinoy Big Brother Kumunity Season 10 as one of its celebrity housemates. Her musical talent was further exposed in this stint, earning her a regular gig on ASAP Natin ‘To every Sunday.

Andrea Brillantes

Another actress to launch her career in Goin’ Bulilit is Andrea, who wasn’t able to “graduate” as she had to do the 2013 remake of the classic soap opera Annaliza.This paved the way for her to land roles in other Kapamilya shows, such as in the 2015 incarnation of Pangako Sa ‘Yo, wherein she was tapped to portray Lia Bueavista, which was originally by Jodi Sta. Maria.

In recent years, she was able to further exhibit her versatility as she played the notorious antagonist Marga Mondragon-Bartolome in Kadenang Ginto and the naive yet pious Mira in Huwag Kang Mangamba. Belle Mariano

Just like the aforementioned actresses, Belle also started out as a bulilit 10 years ago. She has always shown promise in her portrayal of supporting characters in Lorenzo’s Time (2012), FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano (2015), and La Luna Sangre (2017), until she finally earned her breakthrough role as one of the lead stars in the hit teen series He’s Into Her opposite Donny Pangilinan.

Erich Gonzales

While some of the stars we look up to at present began their journey as child stars, Erich kicked off hers when she was already 14 years old by joining Star Circle Teen Quest 18 years ago. She immediately got busy after her triumphant stint in the talent search, but her biggest break came when she took on the iconic character of Nene in the 2009 drama series Katorse.

That opened a lot of doors for her, including lead roles in Tanging Yaman (2010), Maria La Del Barrio (2011), Two Wives (2014), Be My Lady (2017), and The Blood Sisters (2018). Her latest project was La Vida Lena, wherein she astounded us with her portrayal of the bida kontrabida titular character.

Kim Chiu

Kim’s ticket to the industry was by joining a reality show as well – PBB Teen Edition 1 – 16 years ago. She immediately captured our hearts with her charm, thus, she was hailed as the Big Winner and went on to appear in a slew of projects afterwards. Those include Sana Maulit Muli (2007), My Girl (2008), Tayong Dalawa (2009), My Binondo Girl (2011), Ina Kapatid Anak (2012), Ikaw Lamang (2014), The Story Of Us (2016), Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin (2017), and Love Thy Woman (2020).

Liza Soberano

Amidst the pandemic, Liza has still something to celebrate about as she marked the 10th year since she was discovered and started in showbiz. From playing supporting roles in Wansapanataym Presents Mac Ulit-Ulit (2011) and Got To Believe (2013), she later on earned her big break in 2014 through the romantic drama Forevermore, and was succeeded by Dolce Amore in 2016.

Janella Salvador

She may be a daughter of celebrity parents, but Janella was able to make a name for herself in the industry in the past decade, ever since she first appeared in the highly successful daytime series Be Careful With My Heart (2012). After focusing on taking good care of her son Jude, the 24-year-old actress is expected to make her teleserye comeback in the highly anticipated Darna: The TV Series.
