<p>As we all know, working in the entertainment industry can be exhausting and draining. Thus, celebrities make sure to make the most of their day-offs by taking a rest, going on quick getaways, or doing their hobbies, which include playing their favorite sports.</p><p>While a majority of celebrities prefer to play sports such as basketball and volleyball, some stars who have chosen a different kind of game as their recreational activity. Just like the talented stars in this Kapamilya Snaps feature who find the ultimate adrenaline rush in playing golf, as well as relaxation in its relatively serene and breathtaking setting. Read on to discover who they are!</p><div><strong>Donny Pangilinan</strong></div><p>It was in November 2020 when he tried playing golf for the first time, which he documented in a vlog. The <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/cantbuymelove"><strong><u>Can’t Buy Me Love</u></strong></a> leading man imparted that his dad, Anthony, had been playing the sport growing up, so it bewildered him why he never played. And for that day, his dad accompanied him as he played with his close friends from high school.</p><p>Nowadays, hitting the golf course has become a fun family bonding activity for the well-rounded Pangilinans, based on some of the photos shared by Donny on Instagram early this year.</p><div><strong>Joshua Garcia</strong></div><p>Aside from going on rides with his motorcycle, Joshua eventually found his love for golf – thanks to his celebrity friends who have influenced him and invited him to join them in their games. Thus, we have often caught him on the fairway with Daniel Padilla, Zanjoe Marudo, and Daniel Miranda.</p><div><strong>Andrea Brillantes</strong></div><p>It seems that 2023 is the year for trying things she hasn’t done yet for Andrea because aside from going on a hike in Mount Batur in Indonesia, traveling to Spain alone, and attending her first fashion week in Milan, she also got to try playing golf.  During one happy weekend in May, the <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/seniorhigh2023"><strong><u>Senior High</u></strong></a> star was spotted at the fairway with her sister-slash-bestie Kayla Aan.</p><div><strong>Daniel Padilla</strong></div><p>It was in 2021 when Daniel first played golf, as his close friend Zanjoe Marudo revealed in an Instagram post. It coincided with the 10<sup>th</sup>-anniversary celebration of KathNiel, as what his team-up with reel-and-real-life sweetheart Kathryn Bernardo. Since then, he has been spotted with their other friends who are also certified golfers.</p><p>Aside from being a leisure activity, Daniel imparted that golf helps him relax and teaches him discipline in his daily life, such as waking up early and being patient. Recently, his proud mom, Karla Estrada, shared on IG that the Supreme Idol partook in two golf events held in Tacloban City, Leyte and Cabuyao, Laguna.</p><div><strong>Joseph Marco</strong></div><p>While the majority plays golf in the daytime, it seems that Joseph prefers to play it at night. In an IG post in March 2023, the <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/paraiso2023"><strong><u>Pira-Pirasong Paraiso</u></strong></a> actor uploaded pictures of him having “some late-night hitting.” Why not, right?</p><div><strong>Zanjoe Marudo</strong></div><p>Apparently, Zanjoe has been a fan of golf for years. Back in 2013, he celebrated his 31<sup>st</sup> birthday by organizing a golf tournament, which was attended by his friends in and out of the industry. The Dirty Linen star also previously hosted a charity tournament called the “Z Cup”. And in recent years, we’ve often spotted him playing golf with his friends in and out of showbiz.</p><div><strong>John Estrada</strong></div><p>He may be handling guns in <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/batangquiapo"><strong><u>FPJ’s Batang Quiapo</u></strong></a>, as he takes on the role of a police officer named Rigor, but, in real life, John can be seen holding a golf club in his leisure time. But aside from playing for fun, he also joins charity tournaments.</p><p>The seasoned actor enjoys this sport so much, that he even built his home next to a golf course in Cavite. Isn’t that awesome?</p><div><strong>Coco Martin</strong></div><p>As we all know, Coco can get extremely busy working on <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/batangquiapo"><strong><u>FPJ’s Batang Quiapo</u></strong></a> as its lead actor and directors. But during his free time, the Kapamilya Primetime King relieves his stress by spending time with his loved ones and doing his hobbies, which include playing golf.</p><div><strong>Ogie Alcasid</strong></div><p>We may all know him as one of the greatest performers and composers in the local music scene, but Ogie has also been a certified golfer for over three decades now. For Father’s Day 2023, he posted on social media photo of his and his <em>unico hijo </em>Nate together at a golf course, which he captioned, “38 years ago i started playing golf with my dad on Father’s day. Today is yours buddy. Love you. [sic]”</p><p>In 2022, he was among the Kapamilya stars to compete in the first-ever Star Magic Golf Cup, wherein he and <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/itshowtime"><strong><u>It’s Showtime</u></strong></a> co-host Ryan Bang were hailed as the ultimate winners. And just last March of this year, he shared that he finally got his first-ever hole-in-one.</p><div> <strong>Martin Nievera</strong></div><p>From one OPM icon to another, the “Concert King” is also a golf enthusiast. In fact, he’s game for 18 holes whenever with his celebrity friends Ogie Alcasid and Gary Valenciano.</p><p>In an IG post in July 2022, Martin captioned his photo with Ogie, “It’s Golf Time!” First time in years! Thank you @ogiealcasid for convincing me to play today. It’s was a beautiful day of golf and brotherhood tsismisan.”</p><div><strong>Gary Valenciano</strong></div><p>And speaking of Gary, we are well aware that he has been dedicated to living an active lifestyle. Luckily, he has found great golf buddies in his fellow OPM icons and <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/asap"><strong><u>ASAP Natin ‘To</u></strong></a> mainstays Ogie Alcasid and Martin Nievera. But aside from them, Mr. Pure Energy also gets to bond with his nephew Donny Pangilinan through playing golf.</p><div><strong>Enzo Pineda</strong></div><p>Apart from working out, Enzo stays fit and healthy by participating in different sports, such as golf. The <strong><u>Can’t Buy Me Love</u></strong> actor even found time to swing by a golf course during his vacation in Bangkok, Thailand in April 2023.</p><div><strong>Ryan Bang</strong></div><p>As we’ve mentioned earlier, Ryan also plays golf, as he even became a teammate of his <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/itshowtime"><strong><u>It’s Showtime</u></strong></a> co-host Ogie Alcasid in the first-ever Star Magic Golf Cup in 2022. He seems to have found happiness while playing this sport, either alone or with his friends, which includes his <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/itshowtime"><strong><u>It’s Showtime</u></strong></a> fam.</p><p>Our very own Korean Oppa conveyed in one of his social media posts, “It’s always a good day on golf day!”</p><div><strong>Amy Perez</strong></div><p>Golf is definitely a sport for all ages and genders, as Amy is one of those who enjoys it so much. Despite her age, she has remained active by playing this sport, which she also regards as a stress reliever.</p><p>Fortunately, she gets to enjoy it with her fellow celebrities who have become her golf buddies, namely, Ryan Bang, Ogie Alcasid, and Louie Ocampo, as well as Gary Valenciano and Martin Nievera.</p><div><strong>Maris Racal</strong></div><p>And the newest addition to the list of celebrity golfers is Maris, who recently appeared in the music video of James Reid’s latest single “Jacuzzi”.
