With how the world of show business can be toxic, exhausting, and demanding, celebrities try out new things that would serve as their outlet for releasing their stress and other negative emotions, then channeling them into positive energy or something productive. While some turn to arts, music, and other hobbies, there are some who go in for sports, such as basketball, golf, and motorcycling.

But the celebrities featured in this edition of Kapamilya Snaps have found themselves inclined to firing, which some of them were also able to utilize at work as they do action scenes. Read on to find out who they are!

Donny Pangilinan

He may usually charm us with his boy-next-door looks in the series and movies that he starred in, just like what he does in Can’t Buy Me Love, but Donny actually has the potential to become an action star. We’re able to see it through the video clips of him that he posted on Instagram in 2022, through which he gave us a glimpse of one of his sessions at a firing range. He captioned it, “Missing the range.”

Lovi Poe

We may not have seen her character Mokang get into any nail-biting scenes yet in FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, but Lovi already showed her followers that she could also slay in gunfights after she uploaded an IG Reel in February 2023, wherein she’s seen trying out various guns with her nephew Brian Poe-Llamanzares at a firing range. The versatile actress reminded her followers, “Don’t try this at home, kids. All videos shown here were done safely under strict supervision at the firing range.”

Dimples Romana

From compelling us with her dramatic flair in the previous projects that she did, Dimples had gone to amaze us as she showed off her action star side as the fierce and fearless Selene in the well-loved action-drama series The Iron Heart.

Those who were able to religiously watch it had certainly seen the multi-faceted actress do a slew of suspenseful action scenes from show-stopping stunts to heart-pounding gunfights. In a previous Hotspot interview, the Dimples divulged that she learned the proper way of handling guns since her beloved husband Boyet Ahmee is into firing.

Kim Rodriguez

It seems that Kim will never be done in surprising us, as we get to discover a lot of things about her just in her first year as a Kapamilya. From being a motorcycle enthusiast to a skilled drummer, the Nag-aapoy Na Damdamin actress impressed her IG followers when she flexed her good aim during her training at a firing range last September. She was seen using a shotgun with such adeptness.

Jayda Avanzado

Possessing an angelic face, it probably came as a surprise for fans of Jayda when she shared her interest in target shooting on social media. It was in August 2019 when she visited an indoor shooting range for the first time and divulged her experience through a video that she posted on Facebook. She was accompanied by her father, Dingdong Avanzado, who demonstrated to her “the ropes on how to handle a gun and safety”.

And just last July, the promising songstress-actress once again had her firing skills tested as she swung by a local indoor shooting range with her Teen Clash castmates Gail Banawis and Markus Paterson.

Richard Gutierrez

In the decades that he’s been in showbiz, Richard has already played various roles, through which he’s able to exhibit his versatility as an actor. And in his notable stints in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano and The Iron Heart, he’s able to showcase the skills he gained from his hobby, which is practical shooting. Apart from being his form of “therapy,” it’s also his way of bonding with his wife Sarah Lahbati, twin brother Mond, and friends Bubbles Paraiso and Chito Miranda.

Jake Cuenca

Avid fans of Jake surely know how a huge motorcycle enthusiast he is. But taking on the role of Eros del Rio in The Iron Heart seemingly ignited his interest in target shooting, which greatly helped him develop the gun-handling skills that were needed for the series. In between his busy schedule then, Jake was able to squeeze in a few training sessions in firing in his attempt to walk in his character’s shoes.

Luis ManzanoHe may have been in the business for a very long time now, but not a lot of people arguably know that Luis

is inclined to shooting. He disclosed that it’s actually one of the first sports that he ever tried. Apparently, this is a family sport for the I Can See Your Voice host because his mom Vilma Santos and stepfather Ralph Recto are skilled in handling guns.

Jessy Mendiola

Prior to getting pregnant with their firstborn Isabella Rose, Jessy had the chance to try firing for the first time in January 2022 with some encouragement from her beloved “how Show” Luis Manzano. In one of the vlogs she uploaded on her YouTube channel, she reminded her viewers about the importance of following safety practices and being coached by a trained professional.

Did you know that apart from dancing and hosting, our Ate Girl Jackie is also skilled when it comes to shooting? In September 2022, the It’s Showtime regular posted a carousel of snaps and clips of her and boyfriend Hashtag member Tom Doromal having fun during their date at a firing range.

Bianca de Vera

With her bubbly personality, it’s quite a surprise to see Bianca at a firing range, which she did for the first time in October 2022 alongside her 2 Good 2 Be True castmate Gillian Vicencio. The two ladies expressed that this activity was nerve-racking at the start but was overall a therapeutic and fun experience.

We definitely know how a great actress Sunshine is. But little we did know that she’s also fond of target shooting, which became her hobby in 2020 and quickly fell in love with the sport. In the past years, the Pira-Pirasong Paraiso has been sharing pictures of her targets and a video of herself practicing on social media. She even revealed that she actually owns a Glock 19x.
