Lotlot De Leon and Aya Fernandez recently joined forces to bring an inspiring tale of a mother and her children in the Maalaala Mo Kaya “Lost Son” episode. Taking a break from heavy drama, they guested on Kapamilya Chat and played the “Old School and Millennial Slang” Challenge wherein they would decode boomer and new-gen terms.

As expected, Aya slayed the millennial round. She explained the meaning of “FOMO” (Fear of Missing Out), “GOAT” (Greatest of All Time), “spill the tea,” “low-key,” and “sus,” which is short for suspicious.

Meanwhile, Lotlot dominated the boomer round. Her generation was fond of backward speeches. Example: “tipar” or party and “dehins” which means hindi or no. The terms “jologs” (means corny) and “bebot” (a girl) were also popular back in the day. If you hear the word “kopong-kopong,” it’s synonymous to forgotten decades or past, while “amoy chico” refers to a person who smells drunk.
