After a year of postponement, the ABS-CBN Ball 2023 finally pushed through last September 30 – and the long wait was definitely worth it! For hours, we eargerly watched our favorite stars parade on the red carpet in their stylish and show-stopping garbs, and with their gorgeous dates, too!

And among the fabulous celebrities who were part of the lengthy, star-studded guestlist were the cast of today’s well-loved Kapamilya television shows, namely, FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, The Iron Heart, Senior High, Pira-Pirasong Paraiso, and Nag-aapoy na Damdamin.

So, in this edition of Kapamilya Snaps, let’s look back on how the teleserye stars graced the annual charity gala the fashionable way!

FPJ’s Batang Quiapo

Let us start off with the cast of FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, with its lead actor and director Coco Martin being one of the frontrunners on the red carpet. While his presence is already enough to delight everyone, especially that he looked dapper in a modish tuxedo, spectators were extra thrilled when he walked down the red carpet with his rumored girlfriend Julia Montes, who complemented him by wearing an off-shoulder black gown.

Coco’s leading ladies Lovi Poe and Ivana Alawi were also attendance, with the former giving us Bollywood vibes in her two-piece olive green ensemble that displayed her toned abs, while the latter looked like a goddess in a risqué sheer number.

They may tend to make our bloods boil every weeknight, but we can all agree that the looks of John Estrada and McCoy de Leon, who play the annoying father-and-son tandem Rigor and David are absolutely swoon-worthy. John was in a tuxedo that featured a white suit jacket, while McCoy was so dashing in a textured suit. Meanwhile, real-life father-and-son pair Lito and Mark Lapid both opted for classic tuxedos.

Among the first ones to sashay down the red carpet was Cherry Pie Picache, who was stunning in a green asymmetric frock. On the other hand, Lorna Tolentino looked divine in a floor-length black gown with a light pink ribbon across her chest, while Susan Africa attended her first-ever Ball in a simple white dress. Toni Fowler, meanwhile, marked her red-carpet debut in a form-fitting black dress and red hair.

Miles Ocampo and Ejay Falcon, who compellingly played the roles of young Marites and young Rigor in the pilot week of FPJ’s Batang Quiapo both appeared in black numbers. Miles looked fierce in her black garbs with deep-V neckline, while Ejay was such a charmer in an all-black suit and tie.

The Iron Heart

It seemed that black, white, and blue were the colors of the evening for the The Iron Heart cast, who all gorgeous in their suits and gowns.

From attending the Ball with his wife Sarah Lahbati in previous years, lead star Richard Gutierrez was surprisingly alone as he strutted on the red carpet in a tux with white blazer and bowtie. Enzo Pineda also opted for a custom-made white suit jacket for his tuxedo.

Seasoned character actor Cris Villanueva, Diether Ocampo, and Miko Raval all arrived in all-black suits, while Jake Cuenca, Anthony Jennings and Igi Boy Flores both opted for the classic tux.

Sofia Andres brought Old Hollywood glam in the shindig by putting on a black and white tube garb. Maja Salvador, who paraded on the red carpet with husband Rambo Nuñez, wore a black ball gown with deep-V neckline and white tulle lining. Lou Yanong and Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan, meanwhile, kept their look simple yet stylish, with Lou in a long-sleeved white off-shoulder dress, while Maricel in a green column gown.

Michelle Vito and Andi Abaya were both in shimmering embellished frocks, with the former in midnight blue, while the latter in silver. On the other hand, Dimples Romana and Sue Ramirez came in almost similar shades of blue, with Dimples in a pastel blue off-shoulder dress with enormous puff sleeves, while Sue in a powder blue sleeveless frock that was matched by her boyfriend Mayor Javi Benitez, who was in an all-white tux.

Meanwhile, Louise Abuel and Pepe Herrera both deviated from the aforementioned colors as the former came in a light red tuxedo, while the latter was in a funky pastel pink suit with multicolored jacket.

The Senior High

From the juniors to the seniors, the Senior High stars indeed slayed at the ABS-CBN Ball 2023! The ladies and gentlemen claimed the spotlight as soon as they stepped foot on the red carpet.

Young actresses Andrea Brillantes, Daniela Stranner, Xyriel Manabat, and Gela Atayde were all the rage in their glittery and embellished gowns that played up with their curves. On the other hand, young actors Kyle Echarri, JK Labajo, Zaijian Jaranilla, Elijah Canlas, Miggy Jimenez, and Tommy Alejandrino put various twists on the men’s formal attire.

Seasoned actor Mon Confiado may not be a Gen Z anymore, but it seems that he belonged to their group as he arrived in a brocade maroon long coat worn over an all-black ensemble. Meanwhile, other actors Baron Geisler, Gerard Madrid, and Rap Robes all stuck to the classics.

The seasoned actresses, on the other hand, were cladded in simple yet classy numbers. Angel Aquino looked chic in a one-shoulder black dress, Ana Abad Santos was so youthful in a printed white dress, while Anjanette Bayani stunned in a décolletage-baring nude dress. Veteran character actress Sylvia Sanchez, who attended with her husband Arturo Atayde, was so magnificent in an asymmetric wine-red dress.

Pira-Pirasong Paraiso

They might not have any underlying theme for that evening, but it seemed that the Pira-Pirasong Paraiso squad, especially the ladies, displayed their personalities through their outfits.

Being the classy that she is, Elisse Joson opted for a blue and black off-shoulder garb. Charlie Dizon exhibited her playfulness and sunny disposition in a shimmering deep blue number, while Alexa Ilacad emanated her refined and introverted persona in a fully-beaded lime green gown. Loisa Andalio, meanwhile, emanated femme fatale vibes in her corseted peekaboo black dress.

The men, on the other hand, were all oozing with handsomeness in their ensembles. While both KD Estrada and Ronnie Alonte went for classic tuxedos, Joseph Marco swooned in a trendy suit.

With how all of them were in all-black suits, we couldn’t help but think that Rafa Siguion-Reyna, Markus Paterson, Argel Saycon, and Epy Quizon perhaps had a pre-Ball chat about appearing in coordinating outfits. And apparently, Director Roderick Lindayag also got the memo, as he walked down the red carpet in all-black ensemble, too, with two beautiful muses Hasna Cabral and Kate Alejandrino, who were both cladded in fashionable garbs with unique silhouettes.

Since she’s already the Diamond Star, Maricel Soriano didn’t need any frills as she already exuded elegance and opulence in her off-shoulder black gown. Snooky Serna and Sunshine Dizon were dressed in off-shoulder black numbers as well, which made them look fab and sophisticated.

Nikki Valdez, on the other hand, was among those who put a pop of bright color in the event as she sashayed in a yellow ball gown. She attended with her husband Luis Garcia, who was in white tuxedo.

Nag-aapoy na Damdamin

Just like how they fired up our weekday afternoons, the Nag-aapoy Na Damdamin team also did the same at the ABS-CBN Ball 2023.

Jane Oineza, who came with her boyfriend RK Bagatsing, was absolutely jaw-dropping in her avant-garde dark silver ensemble. Her on-screen rival Ria Atayde, who hard-launched her relationship with Zanjoe Marudo on the red carpet, was so sexy in her peekaboo blue green halter dress.

In the return of the glitzy shindig this year, JC de Vera chose to attend in a classic tux that truly complemented his lovely wife Rikkah’s long black dress. Tony Labrusca also arrived in the hip version of the tuxedo, which really went well with his gorgeous date Barbie Imperial’s old Hollywood glam-inspired ensemble.

Seasoned character actor Joko Diaz, who was in an all-black suit and tie, served as the noble escort of veteran character actress Maila Gumila, who looked stunning in a royal blue dress.

Elyson de Dios, who looked dapper in a classic tux, also did the same to another acting veteran Carla Martinez, who was so classy and graceful in the black ensemble and see-through appliqued blazer.

Meanwhile, Aya Fernandez was indeed a vision in white in her immaculately white ball gown with corseted bodice and sharp sweetheart neckline.
