<p>The star of Aya Fernandez is on the rise, thanks to her talent and intense dedication to her craft. We’ve followed her from <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/angsaiyoayakin" target="_blank"><em><strong><u>Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin</u></strong></em></a> to <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/angprobinsyano" target="_blank"><em><strong><u>FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano</u></strong></em></a>, <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/afamilyaffair" target="_blank"><em><strong><u>A Family Affair</u></strong></em></a>, and <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/viralscandal" target="_blank"><em><strong><u>Viral Scandal</u></strong></em></a>, and we can say she’s only getting better in every project.</p><p>In this episode of Kapamilya Chat, Aya took on an acting challenge wherein she reprised iconic scenes from different movies and series, plus her own in <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/viralscandal" target="_blank"><em><strong><u>Viral Scandal</u></strong></em></a>. And boy, was she so good!</p><p>In the first round, she acted out Liza Soberano’s “Pangit ba ako” scene from the film “My Ex and Whys.” While Liza’s version was intense and roaring with anger, Aya kept it calm yet the pain was felt in every word she uttered. She mentioned that she cried watching this film before, “Feeling ko, people do not deserve to feel like they are not enough.”</p><p>We can tell a newcomer is good when she’s able to give justice to Maja Salvador’s hair-raising scene in <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/wildflower" target="_blank"><em><strong><u>Wildflower</u></strong></em></a> wherein Lily/Ivy’s character found her trusted yaya’s body hanging dead. Aya’s tear fell on cue and her rage was strong when she delivered, “Sinong gumawa sa’yo nito?” Sino?!!!” It was because she couldn’t imagine seeing her mother in the same situation.</p><p>Kathryn Bernardo’s ‘hugot’ scene under the rain with Daniel Padilla in “The Hows Of Us” also got a quieter yet just as painful version from Aya. Where did she get her ‘hugot?’ “Siguro pinakamasakit ‘yung gano’ng pakiramdam na kailangan meron kang patunayan sa isang tao para mahalin ka. Walang may deserve talaga ang ganu’ng feeling.”</p><p>The Kapamilya actress got goosebumps when shown her character Ella’s empowering speech in <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/viralscandal" target="_blank"><em><strong><u>Viral Scandal</u></strong></em></a>. In that scene, Ella stood in front of the media to declare her legal battle against her and Rica (Charlie Dizon)’s abuser. Looking back, Aya said she felt the need to uplift women who are real victims of sexual abuse, “Itong eksenang ito, sobrang mapagpalaya siya. For me, nangyayari siya in real life. ‘Yung pakiramdam ko noon is sana hindi lang ako ‘yung lumaya sa eksenang ‘yun kundi ‘yung mga manonood na naransan ‘yung naranasan ni Ella.” She thanked production unit RCD Narratives for boldly putting sexual abuse as the main element in the story.</p><p>Of course, she nailed the scene again, though this was just a game. For Aya, acting is therapeutic. “Marami kang pwedeng masabi sa acting na hindi mo kayang sabihin sa totoong buhay. For me, isang malaking karangalan ang maging isang artista kasi may mga bagay tayong mararansan, masasabi na dito ko lang pwedeng masabi, na sa totoong buhay duwag ako pero nung sa eksena, ‘Ay, nagawa ko siyang ipaglaban.’ So kahit na acting lang ‘yun, real emotions ‘yun.
