Remember when LA Santos and Kira Balinger had us all swooning with their unexpectedly good chemistry in “Mars Ravelo’s Darna”, where he played the kind-hearted mortal, Richard, and she was the superhero from Planet Marte, Luna?

Well, we fell in love with their endearing rapport all over again during their Kapamilya Chat guesting, where they promoted their new movie, the OFW-centered “Maple Leaf Dreams,” and totally entertained us with their playful banter in fun challenges.

LA and Kira are living proof that a guy and girl can just be friends. And as time goes by, their bond just keeps getting stronger—just look at how well they know each other in the “LA versus Kira” Challenge!

In the game, they had to decide who between them fit a given description better. For starters, they had to figure out who is more ‘machika,’ or chatty. LA pointed to Kira, calling her “madaldal” (talkative), which she didn’t deny. As a “madaldal,” Kira is also voted as the one who loves asking random questions. But LA confessed that he’s also a fan of surprising questions, which he demonstrated by asking, “Kutsara ka ba?” To which Kira replied, “Bakit?” And he responded, “Kasi ‘pag nakikita kita napapanganga ako.” Boom!

In the next round, Kira was revealed as the more money-conscious one, being the breadwinner and all. She said, “Alam ko kasi ‘yung feeling to provide for the family, na kailangan unahin ang priorities and needs.” Then, when they were asked who loves giving random gifts, Kira shot a look at LA. She recalled how, after a beach trip, LA came back with a dish tray made of shells, knowing she’s a shell lover. How sweet is that

LA also didn’t protest when Kira pointed to him as the one who loves ordering food online. Well, in his defense, he explained that a good food trip is his way to unwind after a long day, especially on the set.

You’ll definitely love their playful banter when they were asked who’s quicker to start a chat. They ended up agreeing that it’s a tie—both of them. However, they had a bit of a debate over who apologizes first. In the end, Kira handed the title to LA, who shared that it’s just his personality to own up to his mistakes and view them as chances for growth, so he’s totally fine with admitting when he’s wrong.

So how do they handle their little squabbles as friends? Kira joked, “Hindi ko siya kakausapin hanggang sa ma-miss niya ako,” prompting LA to fire back that Kira can’t stand being apart for even 30 seconds without talking to him. They both had a good laugh over their lighthearted teasing.
