Vice shares baby plans, recalls his life’s most tragic event in Maricel’s vlog

Maricel Soriano and Vice Ganda were finally able to squeeze their much-awaited vlog session into their busy schedules. And it was a meaningful ‘collab’ that doubled as their reunion. In a recent vlog on the Diamond Star&#x27;s YouTube channel, she prepared a bowl of questions that cover Vice’s life before showbiz, his relationship with Ion Perez, and other plans.The first question had Vice reminiscing his days before stardom. He said if there’s one thing he misses about the past, it would have to be living in simplicity, “’Yung kakalmahan ng buhay. Nami-miss ko ‘yon. ‘Yung pagpunta sa mga simpleng lugar, mamamalengke ka nang kalma lang.” Now, there’s no way he could shop without fans asking for photo ops. He’s not complaining though. Vice is grateful for his job and he enjoys every bit of it.The Unkabogable Star doesn’t shy away from sharing his childhood, both the good and tragic parts. When asked one thing from the past he would like to change, it would be the day his father was killed in front of their family. “For a child to experience that, na pinatay ‘yung tatay niya sa harap ng pamilya niya, ang hirap-hirap ng naging buhay naming pamilya. Araw-araw nabubuhay kaming takot kasi feeling namin isusunod na kami dahil tinatakot kami nung pumatay sa tatay ko,” he relived the trauma.As shared in previous interviews, his father was shot dead in 1991 by a gunman who remains at large. To this day, he vividly remembers that tragic event and how it spawned years of sufferings for their family. Now with more understanding of mental health, he realizes how depressing it was for their mom, Nanay Rosario, to push for justice and give up eventually due to lack of resources. “Dahil mahirap kami, hindi na namin naitaguyod ‘yung kaso ng Tatay ko… Sumuko na lang kami. Umabot na kami sa ipagpasa-Diyos na lang namin.”His mother had to step up for the family by working as an OFW. Thus, Vice grew up without parents by his side. But, considering the hopeful aspect of that incident, he said it taught him forgiveness, “Kasi ‘yun ang magpapagaan ng pakpak mo para makalipad ka. It isn’t easy for a lot of people to forgive especially kung gano’n kalaki ang pagkakasala sa’yo. Pero, ako, I have forgiven that person na pumatay sa tatay ko, fully, sincerely, and wholeheartedly.” It also made him more resilient, knowing he’d be able to endure all kinds of challenges after that hardest one.Maricel and Vice commend Nanay Rosario’s incredible strength, considering the maternal stress she went through. Vice mused, “Ang mga anak, iisipin lang nila ‘yung sariling nararamdaman nila, ‘di ba? Pero, you, as mothers, lahat dadamahin at iindahin ninyo. Kaya ang hirap ng posisyon ng mga Nanay.”He also opened up about his relationship with Ion, saying he felt it was really meant to be. “Kung hindi niya ako inaya na magpakasal, aayain ko pa rin naman siya. So, mangyayari’t mangyayari talaga siya by hook or by crook.”He continued, “It was a moment that I have long waited for. It was a moment na gusto ko na rin mangyari no’ng oras na ‘yon. Noong na-meet ko si Ion, I realized that I was so blessed because I finally found that one person that I both want and need. I want him to be in my life and I need him to be in my life.”To recall, Vice and Ion surprised everyone just this year when they announced their secret marriage. Even Maricel didn’t know about it, but she totally understands and is happy for the couple. She told Vice, “Eh, tawag ng puso ‘yon. Kailangan kong unawain kasi anak nga kita.”Vice admitted he wants to have kids, but he doesn’t know when he’ll able to have one. The “<a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/everybodysing">Everybody Sing</a>” host considers his age a huge factor in planning for his future family. “Actually, nagko-compute din ako. ‘Maaalagaan ko pa ba ito ‘pag ganitong edad? ‘Pag nag-debut siya, ilang taon ako no’n? Makaka-attend pa ba ako ng big party niya? Maisasayaw ko pa ba siya?’ Iniisip ko pa rin ‘yung mga gano’n,” he confessed.In another question, Vice was asked one thing he dislikes about Maricel. He said there’s none because what matters is they click and they love each other. He told her, “You may not be a perfect person but your imperfections are okay with me. Hindi naman ako naghahangad ng perpektong tao, o kaibigan, o kasama sa buhay. Sapat na ‘yung nagkakaunawan tayo at tanggap natin ang isa’t isa.” Vice also wishes they may travel together.The conversation got more sentimental when Vice disclosed the last time he cried, which was a few days ago. It was a Sunday night and their family had a singing session after dinner in Bohol. His mother sang “Moon River” and it made him cry happy tears. “Na-miss ko pala ‘yung marinig na kumanta ang Nanay ko… Na-miss ko pala ‘yung boses ng nanay ko.”Then, his siblings took turns singing. At times, it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life, but such simple moments are great reminders of the love and beauty around us.Vice further shared, “Sa edad kong ito, ‘yun ang very first time na na-experience kong nagsi-sing-along kaming pamilya. Tapos nagtatawanan lang kami…Matatanda na kaming magkakapatid pero ang sarap magpakabata ulit. Para kaming mga bata na naghaharutan tapos kumakanta kasama ‘yung Nanay namin. ‘Yung gano’ng moment, ang sarap lang. Sa sobrang sarap, naiyak ako.”He realized there’s a lot of catching up to do but he’s thankful knowing the Lord will still give them many more tomorrows to celebrate life together.Check out Vice and Maricel’s illuminating convo in their recent YouTube collaboration!
