While it is believed that the bunso or youngest child in the family is the most favorite, it’s clearly not the case for the Dimaguiba family of “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.” As we all know, their forbidding padre de familia, Rigor (John Estrada), seems to be inherently irate with his and wife Marites’ (Cherry Pie Picache) youngest son, Santino (Ronwaldo Martin), as he usually compares him to Tanggol (Coco Martin), whom the latter admires so much.

Despite his father’s unfair treatment towards him, not to mention being harsh to his beloved mom, Santino has remained respectful to his father. However, all the remaining respect that Santino had for him already went down the drain after Rigor refused to grant him due process when he got involved in the murder case of Coach Gary (Levi Ignacio).

Instead of taking his side and waiting for the results of the investigations, Rigor immediately beat Santino up as soon as he caught him at their house and got him arrested. In the end, it was ruled that Santino had been completely innocent, so he eventually got emancipated. This caused Santino to harbor ill feelings towards his father.

In this Kapamilya Update feature, let’s revisit the five scenes wherein Santino displayed aversion to Rigor.

Starting off this list was the scene wherein Santino refused to bat an eye on Rigor when he called him “anak” as soon as he was released from jail. Rigor attempted to approach him and explained that he was only doing his job as a policeman, which didn’t sit well with the vehemently mad Santino.

He infuriatingly said to him, “Trabaho mo? Na mas mahalaga pa sa pamilya mo? Ginagalang kita bilang tatay ko, pero ‘di na kita kayang mahalin dahil sa ginagawa mo sa amin. Lalo na kay nanay!” Then he walked off.

Santino's frustration at Rigor went on the following day, as he initially ignored him when he bade goodbye to him before heading to work. Rigor was vexed over his son’s impolite reply, which prompted Santino to dare about sending him back to jail since he's already a criminal in his eyes. Santino told Rigor off that he only wanted his name cleared to keep his reputation, as well as better get going since he’s more needed at the police station.

As Rigor related to him that they had already confirmed his innocence from Coach Gary’s case, as well as apologized for his mistake, Santino indignantly uttered that he would never thank nor forgive him for what he had done to him.

The following day, their misunderstanding further escalated as Rigor got enraged at Santino after the latter opted to not join them during breakfast as soon as the former went out of David’s (McCoy de Leon) bedroom, where he spent the night. A scorching altercation ensued between them as Santino rubbed into Rigor that he never became a real father to him, which triggered Rigor to almost throw a punch at Santino.

Is there still a chance for Santino and Rigor to make amends? Let’s find out by not missing an episode of FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” weeknights at 8 PM, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, and TV5.
