We were absolutely brought to another suspenseful rollercoaster ride in the last week’s episodes of FPJ’s Batang Quiapo as we witnessed heart-wrenching encounters, nail-biting gunfights and chases, and other striking scenes that absolutely left us all stunned and got us feeling various emotions.

The previous week (August 7 to August 11) immediately commenced on a high note as David (McCoy de Leon) lashed out at Camille (Yukii Takahashi) as she tended to side with his family after his altercation with them, particularly with Tindeng (Charo Santos). Playing the victim, he told her how they’re ganging up on him and how they would surely ask for a portion of his income now that he’s already earning much.

As Tindeng and Noy (Lou Veloso) express their fear that David would surely tell Rigor (John Estrada) about what happened, Marites (Cherry Pie Picache) assured them that she’s going to stand up for them and also apologized for how her son disrespected them anew. However, Tindeng told Tess that she’s not the one who should say sorry but Rigor, since he raised David into the person that he is now – conceited and arrogant.

Mokang (Lovi Poe) was also able to close a deal with Ramon (Christopher de Leon) during their date, which was his way of making up for the mistake he committed to her. As a sign of his sincere apology, he gave her a precious necklace that she initially rejected. He also brought up again his proposal for her to become his wife, as well as his promise of helping her and her family with their current financial trouble and giving her the lavish life like a true royalty. She went with him to his mansion, wherein she entertained him and half-heartedly gave herself to him.

Upon finding out that Amanda ran away with Primo, Augustus hit out at his minions and ordered them to beat up her most trusted right-hand Eric (Kiko Matos) for letting it happen. While Primo was already determined to absolutely take the love of his life away from Augustus, Amanda suggested that it’s a better idea if she would return to him not only for the sake of his family, but also in order for them to still have ample time and resources to defeat him.

That same night, Tanggol (Coco Martin) and his friends executed their plan of infiltrating the mansion of Angkong (Joonee Gamboa) to steal the drug money he and Enteng (Jojit Lorenzo) delivered earlier that day. Unfortunately, they were caught by the drug lord’s henchmen on their way out, which resulted in an intense gunfight and wild chase between the two groups. Coincidentally, four Quiapo police officers, Rigor, Mando (Allan Paule), P/Lt. Jacobe, and Lt. Mario Samonte (Jorel Ramirez) were patrolling along the same area where the suspenseful car chase and shootout transpired.

Tanggol and his friends went straight to the hospital to supposedly offer Mokang the money he stole to fund Marsing’s operation, only to find out that it was too late for them as she already gave herself up. A heart-wrenching confrontation ensued between them as they asked one another where they got the large amount of money they had at that time and apologized for not being able to fulfill their promises. As Tanggol and his friends escaped from the authorities, Mokang gave him a short yet passionate kiss.

In pursuit of persuading Amanda to come back to him, Augustus commanded his lackeys to bring her family to him. As soon as they arrived, he fatally shot one of her loved ones and told his men to throw her to a creek and have the media find out about it in order to send the message he wants to convey to Amanda.

Tanggol and his friends had a nail-biting encounter with the police, in which he was heavily beaten by Lt. Jacobe and Lt. Samonte, while his companions got arrested. He eventually came face-to-face with his father Rigor, who was really keen on catching him, but his Ninong Mando, who has a soft spot for him, allowed him to escape upon his plea.

Just when he thought that he’s already free, Rigor was able to catch him and mercilessly shot him as he once again attempted to run away. And that particular scene apparently repeated history as it was reminiscent of the bloody encounter between Rigor and Tanggol’s biological father Ramon two decades ago that we witnessed in the pilot week.

A highly emotional, action-packed week for viewers
It was indeed a highly emotional week not just for the characters of FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, but for its avid viewers as well. The week started off with McCoy De Leon continuously triggering the exasperation of netizens as his character David didn’t just respected his mother and grandparents, but also gaslighted Camille, which is definitely a huge red flag.

Many of us then got brokenhearted as we witnessed the tear-jerking reunion of Tanggol and Mokang at the hospital, in which he found out that all his and his friends’ efforts in stealing money and breaking his promise to her of going straight in life have gone to waste as she already gave herself up in exchange of the whopping amount of money she needed for Marsing’s operation. The kilig we used to feel whenever we see them together was instantly replaced with heartbreak and sadness as we really felt how helpless and mad they both are in the situation they’re in.

Afterwards, we probably caught ourselves at the edge of our seats and our hearts racing as the police arrived at the hospital to arrest Tanggol and his friends because of the crime they did. The group attempted to escape and fight them, but the authorities were too quick and were able to successfully corner them.

Of course, we were mad at Lt. Jacobe (Victor Silayan) for viciously assaulting Tanggol until he got drenched in his own blood. But our fury further escalated when Rigor mercilessly shot his adoptive son despite his pleas to let him run away and not kill him. As Mando expressed his disgust towards what his friend-slash-colleague did, netizens couldn’t help but compare him to the latter and express how they admire him even for being a father to Tanggol than Rigor.

These rabid reactions from netizens only prove that all the actors are indeed doing a great job in portraying their respective roles. At the same time, they also expressed appreciation to the cinematography, well-written script, and other technical and creative elements of the show, which were done with utmost impeccability. The action scenes were beyond impressive, too!

We rounded up below some of the intense tweets we spotted on X (formerly Twitter) that likely to represent the reactions of the viewers towards the episodes of FPJ’s Batang Quiapo in the previous week:

Is Tanggol really dead already? Are the wicked plans of Olga and David going to be a success? Well, that’s for us to find out, so you better not miss an episode of FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and A2Z.
