It was absolutely a horrifying, nail-biting, and astonishing week (October 7 to October 11) for “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” as we witnessed not just one but four deaths, along with the scorching confrontations among the other characters, that truly blew the minds of viewers.

The previous week commenced with the shocking massacre of the remaining Caballero family, comprised of Don Facundo (Jaime Fabregas), Señora Bettina (Tessie Tomas), and Katherine (Ara Davao), after being brutally murdered by the Montenegros and their henchmen who suddenly attacked at their house. Olga (Irma Adlawan) was the one who fatally shot Bettina and Katherine, while it was David (McCoy de Leon) who finished off Don Facundo. Ramon (Christopher de Leon) was also able to slay Marcelo (Nonie Buencamino) by riddling him with gunshots and slashing his neck.

Little did Ramon and David know that Tanggol (Coco Martin) and his friends, along with Madonna (Kim Domingo), were also there at the Caballero mansion after Don Facundo tortured them. The group immediately left after assuring that the armed visitors were gone and seeing the awful crime scene. Tindeng (Charo Santos) and Noy (Lou Veloso) also learned about what happened at the mansion and mourned the harrowing demise of the Caballeros.

Meanwhile, Rigor (John Estrada) and Mando (Allan Paule) continued their investigation about the murder of Coach Gary (Levi Ignacio) and found out through their interrogation with Chito (Shernan Gaite) that it was really his friend, Lawrence (Paolo Gumabao), who’s the real culprit. He was initially adamant to tell them everything that he knew but was compelled to ‘fess up after Rigor warned him about getting imprisoned as well if he refused to coordinate with them. They were able to further confirm it when the result of the fingerprint analysis revealed that Lawrence’s fingerprints matched the ones found on the victim’s lockbox.

After receiving a call from the police, David returned to the Caballero residence to face them and dispel, as early as possible, any suspicion that they may have against their family. Of course, he put on quite a show by pretending that he’s in agony, which certainly piqued the viewers anew. Just when he thought that he would not have any problem anymore in seizing the wealth entrusted to him by Señora Bettina, it seems that David still has to go through a difficult process, as hinted by his conversation with Atty. Romina Falcon (Sunshine Guimary), the legal counsel of the Caballero family.

Tanggol and his friends, on the other hand, were reprimanded by Berting (Joey Marquez) and Amanda (Lorna Tolentino) for bringing Madonna to their lair as she might be a traitor. But Tanggol defended Madonna by saying that she could be trusted since it’s her who saved them from death when the Montenegros attacked the Caballero mansion. He was also able to persuade Divina (Rosanna Roces) to let Madonna be part of their group, which is his way of expressing his gratitude to her for what she had done to him and his friends.

As he relayed the news to Madonna and told her about how his connection with Divina started, Tanggol took it as an opportunity to admit that Don Facundo and Marcelo’s allegations against him about taking possession of the “Star of Venus” had been true after all. This confession completely stunned her at first, but she subsequently agreed that what he and his friends did was just right upon hearing his explanation.

Divina and Amanda once again engaged in a scorching spat because of what happened to Tanggol and his friends. As Divina confronted Amanda and her group for not being able to fulfill their promise of protecting Tanggol, Amanda clapped back at Divina by implying that she was also at fault since they had to make sure to safely take her fake golds at their lair. Since she apparently already had enough of their almost incessant quarrels, Divina asked her righthand Peng (Long Mejia) to conduct a background check on Amanda.

Meanwhile, at the Montenegro mansion, Olga got fuming mad upon learning from Ramon that it was him who finished off her ex-lover Marcelo during their encounter at the Caballero mansion. That went on as David reminded her that he’s now more powerful than her, for he has not only gained the wealth of the Caballeros, but he also earned the trust and favor of Ramon, who seems to be already convinced that he’s indeed his son. Thus, this enkindled Olga’s desire to find a new trustworthy and dependable minion.

As he made his own investigation regarding what happened to Coach Gary, Santino (Ronwaldo Martin) found himself at an underground fighting arena after Lawrence brought him there to come face-to-face with Tisoy (Zeus Collins), who he presumed could be the suspect. However, Tisoy denied Santino’s allegations and subsequently went head-to-head against him in a bloody match, as Lawrence was able to trick him to do so. Unbeknownst to Santino, Lawrence brought him there to fulfill not just Tisoy’s wish to take revenge against him after what happened in their first bout but also his longtime desire to have Santino dead.

Despite being underestimated by others inside the arena and being betrayed by Lawrence, whom he thought was trustworthy, it was still Santino who emerged as the winner in the end. He also wasn’t able to simply defeat Tisoy, as the latter died after being accidentally stabbed on the back by the same knife that he used to almost kill Santino.

The police, led by his father Rigor, suddenly arrived at the underground fighting pit-slash-drug den to apprehend everyone there, including Lawrence, who was fatally shot by Rigor after he attempted to resist while being arrested. Santino was almost arrested, but Edwin and the Tondo gang were able to save him by shooting the cops until they were able to escape. Just when we thought that they did it out of their concern, it was revealed that they actually had ulterior motives for him.

A series of intense disputes once again erupted at the Dimaguiba household after Rigor imparted that they had already caught the real suspect behind the murder of Gary. Marites (Cherry Pie Picache) couldn’t help but air her frustration to Rigor for putting his duties as policeman first before becoming a padre de familia to them. Lena then provoked Rigor anew after she tried to insist that he chooses her and the baby inside her womb over his job and his legitimate family.

Even though she was offended that Rigor opted to not sleep beside her the night before as he had to maintain his claim that she is just a boarder at their house, Lena still defended Rigor during his altercation with Marites the following day. The level of energy was indeed high as a series of intense confrontation scenes ensued that morning.

The first was between Rigor and Santino after the latter refused to obey the former when he asked him to stay for them to be able to talk. It was followed by another exchange of blames between Rigor and Marites regarding their youngest son’s demeanor, then a battle between Lena and Marites as the “jumper” meddled with their heated discussion again.

As Lena asserted again for Rigor to evict Marites for them to finally live in peace and to leave the police force to find another job, it indeed irked him since we knew how much he values being a morally upright policeman. Out of extreme exasperation, he didn’t only hurl a plate, but he also angrily asked Lena to be the one to go away.
