It was indeed another action-packed and dramatic week for FPJ’s Batang Quiapo as we witnessed our primetime hero Tanggol (Coco Martin) and his friends once again found themselves in the midst of a battle that they weren’t supposed to be a part of, while David (McCoy de Leon) brought new problem to their family after impregnating his girlfriend.

Mokang’s (Lovi Poe) quick recovery after stumbling onstage during debut performance had made her earn the admiration of the customers in the club, including congressman (Jong Cuenco), who’s one of the high-paying regulars. This made Selene (Shanaia Gomez) further abhor her, since he’s one of her longtime patrons.

Since he wanted to get a piece of her that night, congressman wished to have a private moment with her in one of the VIP rooms, to which Mokang hesitantly heeded to. Knowing how awkward it would be to her best friend, Chicky (Toni Fowler) discreetly taught her a modus operandi that she learned in order to escape and steal money from him – by secretly putting sleeping pills into his drink. And they indeed succeeded in their mission as they’re able to make him instantly fall asleep and pilfer some amount from him, which Mokang would use in paying for his father’s medical bills.

Left with no other choice after getting into a heated argument with her parents, David (McCoy de Leon) took Camille (Yukii Takahashi) to their home and told his family that she’s pregnant. Being the apparent favorite of Rigor (John Estrada), this infuriated him, of course, since he has big dreams for him and wants him to become a policeman like him, too.

Meanwhile, Tanggol’s group struggles to get out of another mess they got into after they helped Primo and his henchmen during their skirmish with the group of Augustus (Julio Diaz). Fearing that they would get entangled in their crime after kidnapping Amanda (Lorna Tolentino), more so when they’ll kill him, Ben (Mark Lapid) assured them that it’s not going to happen. The group also got to finally recognize Primo as the one who stole the money they also pilfered from other people during one of their heists in Quiapo.

Emotions indeed ran high at the Dimaguiba household as David and Camille’s situation has extremely taken a toll on their family. However, despite the disappointment and anger that they feel towards him, Rigor and Marites (Cherry Pie Picache) still couldn’t afford to just forsake them. As David suggested that he will just stop going to school and look for a job instead in order to provide for the family he’s about to have, Rigor told Marites that he still wants him to finish his studies and become a policeman, so he must strive hard to juggle school and work despite how difficult it will be.

Santino (Ronwaldo Martin) and David also had intense altercations, which almost put the lives of Camille and of the baby in her womb in danger after she tried to stop them upon catching them.

Supremo’s group plans to use Amanda against Augustus by asking for a whopping ransom from him in exchange of her freedom. However, despite what she did to him in the past, Primo still couldn’t afford to put her life on the line. Unbeknown to them, the enemy was already moving to hunt them down by abducting, torturing, and eventually murdering one of Primo’s men.

Amidst the piles of problems that their family is going through, good news arrived in the Dimaguiba household after Mando (Allan Paule) relayed to them that Police Lt. Col. Manuel Suarez (King Gutierrez) was already reinstating him. As Rigor asked for an update regarding the high-grade drugs he surrendered, Col. Suarez assured him that he’s strictly taking care of it. He also learned about the recent attack to Roda, in which Tanggol is one of the persons-of-interest because of previously pointed a gun at him.

Since it’s impossible for them to pay the hospital bill of Camille, David attempted to seek the help of her parents. Unfortunately, her father once again pushed him away and told him that their daughter is already his responsibility since she chose him over them. Rigor also refused to give any financial aid as he wants David to face and resolve it on his own.

When Olga, a.k.a “Beng”, came back to her store again, Marites asked her if she could borrow money from her for an emergency. Of course, Olga agreed since it’s an opportunity for her to further gain her trust and to start executing her vengeful scheme against the Dimaguibas. She initially asked for a collateral, but upon seeing their situation, not to mention witnessing David’s outburst, Olga instantly decided to just lend her the money she needed and have a written agreement between them.

As the rivalry between Mokang and Selene continues to heat up, one of the company owners agreed to Chicky’s suggestion for the two of them to have showdown. Mokang was initially hesitant to accept it, but eventually agreed in order to prove her worth. Unbeknown to them, Selene and her sidekicks were brewing something to sabotage her.

Just when they’re about to leave and assured that they wouldn’t be embroiled in this mess, Tanggol and his friends find themselves in yet another dangerous situation as Augustus ambushes Supremo’s hideout. Tanggol decided not to intermeddle in order to stay away from further trouble and since the enemies were his father’s fellow policemen. Primo was shot while forcing Amanda to escape with them, to which the latter objected since it’s better for her to stay for their group, especially him, to be saved.

David applied as a part-time barista at a coffee shop and got accepted on the same day. But his arrogance still prevailed so he immediately got fired. Upon coming out of the establishment, two henchmen of Olga followed and abducted him. They brought him at their hideout, in which he learned from Olga the truth behind Tanggol’s real identity. Fearing for his own life and getting lured by the hefty amount of cash she promised in exchange of cooperating with her, David is inclined to be her “friend.”

Upon learning that Roda is able to survive the fatal attack on him, Edwin (Ping Medina) and the Tondo Boys agreed to immediately dispose the jewelries they got from him and sold them for 30,000 pesos. They used it as capital for the drug dealership business Edwin came up with.

Tanggol and his friends brought Primo and his men, who were all wounded, at Berting’s (Joey Marquez) restobar. Of course, Berting reprimanded them anew for figuring in another trouble again. Being a former police officer, he’s able to recognize Primo and Lucio, who he was able to seize for being the prime ‘tiradors’ in Quiapo many years ago.

Amusing comments from netizens

This week’s episodes indeed brought us to a steadily thrilling and dramatic ride as we witnessed tons of action and confrontations, as well heartwarming and relatable scenes in every episode.

For sure, there are viewers who were able to identify with the recent happenings in the Dimaguiba Family as David got his girlfriend pregnant. Of course, it’s inevitable for parents like Rigor and Marites, and even of Camille’s, to get disappointed and furious because of what happened since they want nothing but success and bright future for their children. However, in spite of those negative reactions, their innate and unconditional love for them still prevailed, especially the mothers who showed compassion for them by expressing that they still care for them. In the end, it’s our family (or those ones who we consider as our fam) to whom we can always run to and rely on, right?

McCoy de Leon also absolutely got everyone’s gigil with his compelling portrayal of David, who definitely got into our nerves because of the irritating attitude he exhibited throughout this week. We abhor him for being disrespectful towards his family, especially to his mother, Marites, and for instantly getting indifferent towards Camille after he wasn’t able to get what he’s really been yearning from her, which is her share from their family’s wealth. Besides, we hated how, instead of showing humility, he let his arrogance surface just on his very first day at work. So insane and horrible, right?

Thus, netizens were delighted to watch him being tormented by Olga and her henchmen. Many of them said that he truly “dasurv” it for everything that he did. But, at the same time, we couldn’t help but be also worried to see that he’s going to be an accomplice of Olga in her vengeful schemes against Tanggol.

His character may be immensely loathed, but we can all agree that McCoy is indeed doing a great job in playing his character and in keeping up with his veteran co-actors.
