Men naturally would do everything to win the girl he likes. However, excessive eagerness can trigger desperate moves. David (McCoy de Leon), for instance, got obsessed when he started to demand Camille (Yuki Takahashi)’s love and attention. Kapamilya Toplist collated 15 scenes showing his toxic behavior trying to make Camille love him in FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.

In an attempt to put his proverbial best foot forward, David cloaked parts of his persona and pretended to be somebody he is not, one who is capable of keeping up with Camille’s extravagant lifestyle. When he invited Camille and her ‘barkada’ to eat out and was taunted that he doesn’t even have money to get a ride to school, he thought of ways to save his ego by stealing Tanggol (Coco Martin)’s money.

With enough bills in his wallet, he pushed through with his date with Camille along with their squads, and paid for their food. The money he stole from Tanggol was more than enough to shoulder a repeat date. When asked why he’s so generous, David said he simply wants to share his blessings.

He tells exaggerated stories that paint him as a hero. We viewers were satisfied when he got a taste of Tanggol’s wrath. Then, tables turned all over again when he used his bruises and wounds to exalt himself, telling his friends that he got injured from saving an old lady from a group of thieves. He impressed Camille with his fake courage, strength, and kindness. He even told her that he empathized with the old lady because he’s also his grandma’s favorite grandson. But in reality, he can’t even respect Tindeng (Charo Santos). And the way he confidently delivers his lies will surely make your blood boil.

They went to the cinema, then, had dinner on their first exclusive date. Camille noticed that David was struggling to use chopsticks, so she asked if he would like to use spoon and fork instead. But the funny thing is that he went on faking it. He said that he’s used to having fancy dinner. This guy is so good at curating his image, right? Major red flag!

And to entice his target, David buys flowers and gifts, which he said is just a simple effort to make her
smile. Isn’t this love bombing? The goal was to make Camille believe that David can do and offer anything to make her feel special.

The conversations grew sweeter. While it’s kilig on the surface, thanks to the actors’ chemistry, still we’re infuriated by David’s lies. Even his brother Santino (Ronwaldo Martin) couldn’t help but react, “Alam ba niyang malikot kamay mo?” when he caught him video-chatting with Camille.

No one would be able to fake it for too long. David’s true colors slowly unravelled when he invited Camille to party with him and his group in a bar and bring whoever she likes. His budget, which he stole from Tanggol, would inevitably dry up, forcing him to borrow money from his friends. More so, his true intention was exposed when he put Camille on the spot to make their relationship official and brought her to a motel room.

He kissed her and they got intimate. The act comes off as an assault since Camille protested at the beginning but was too drunk to defend herself. When things simmered, David manipulated Camille by insisting that a sexual relationship is acceptable since they love each other. He then uttered men’s classic lie, that she’s the only woman he’d want to be with for the rest of their lives.
