Angkas blacklisting 'very possible' due to alleged test run violations: official

MANILA – Angkas could be blacklisted over &quot;clear and blatant&quot; violations of rules for a test run for motorcycle taxis, a government official overseeing the pilot said Tuesday.The technical working group received verified reports that Angkas broke certain guidelines on pricing surge, improper wearing of safety vests and operating outside allowed areas, said the body&#x27;s chairman, Antonio Gardiola.The pilot covers Metro Manila and Cebu but investigations discovered that Angkas was servicing passengers in the cities of General Santos and Cagayan De Oro, he said. &quot;That was clear and blatant, not following the guidelines,&quot; Gardiola said. &quot;Meron kaming set na guidelines, one of the guidelines may provision for blacklisting... very possible na for them.&quot;(We have set guidelines and it includes a provision for blacklisting. It&#x27;s very possible for them)Angkas will still be allowed to operate during the pilot run which runs until March but it could be “blacklisted” when it applies for a license once the regulations are in place, he said.Angkas, with 27,000 riders, was the sole motor taxi operator during the initial pilot test that ended in December.
