MANILA - An Energizer-branded Android smartphone has been launched, promising to outlast the competition with one of the largest batteries in a mobile device.

The Energizer Powermax P600s packs a 4,500 milliamp-hour battery that is rated for 16.5 days on standby and up to 12 hours talk time, according to its manufacturer, France's Avenir Telecom.

The Energizer phone's battery is larger compared to most flagship devices. Huawei's Mate 10 Pro has a 4,000 mAh, HTC's U11+ has 3,930 mAh, Google's Pixel 2 XL has 3,520 mAh while Samsung's Galaxy Note 8 and the OnePlus 5T both have 3,300 mAh.

The size of a battery, however, does not necessarily guarantee device endurance. The plus version of Apple's iPhones, for example, have less than 3,000 mAh, but can outlast Android rivals with bigger batteries due to software optimization, according to numerous tech reviews.

The phone's specifications are at par with mid-range devices, packing a 6-inch Full HD screen with an 18:9 aspect ratio that curves on both sides, similar to Samsung's S8 and Note 8.

It comes in 32 and 64 gigabytes of internal storage and 3 to 6 GB of RAM and a dual-lens set up on the back.
