MANILA - San Miguel Corp said Monday the the Skyway Stage 3 project would be completed in July after a fire that damaged a portion of the elevated toll road caused a 3-month delay.

Work on the structure will proceed "24/7" to ensure its opening in 5 months, San Miguel Corp President and COO Ramon Ang said.

"What pains us is that we missed the opportunity to help motorists sooner with the opening of this road network. But what’s important now is that we get back to work right away and double our hard work. There will be no shortcuts and we will put all our resources on this effort," he said.

Skyway Stage 3 stretches from Gil Puyat Avenue in Makati and runs through San Juan, Manila and Quezon City all the way to the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX). San Miguel said it will cut travel time from Buendia to Balintawak to 15 minutes.
