GrabCar gets OK to pick up passengers from NAIA

MANILA - Getting a ride from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) will now be made easier.Starting Monday, March 14, arriving passengers will be allowed to book rides with GrabCar following its official accreditation with the airport management.Grab has signed an agreement with the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) that allows its drivers to pick up passengers from the four terminals of the NAIA.Grab is the first transportation network company to be officially accredited by MIAA.To avoid congestion at the arrival areas of the four terminals, Grab drivers will only be allowed to pick up passengers at designated pick-up points.The pick-up locations are as follows:Terminal 1: Main arrival curbside Terminal 2: Inner arrival curbside between Bays 7 and 8 Terminal 3: Secondary arrival curbside between bays 5 and 6 Terminal 4: CurbsidePassengers will be charged the same P30 base fare plus P12 for every succeeding kilometer.Aside from using the Grab app, passengers can book rides through booking agents who will be present at designated areas at the terminals.“Since we launched GrabCar in the Philippines in 2014, we have focused on transforming the way Filipinos travel. Our partnership with MIAA takes us one step closer to that goal and will make heading to the next destination more convenient for the 50,000 people that arrive at NAIA daily, especially after a long flight,” Wee Tang Yee, country head of Grab Philippines, said in a statement.Grab will provide MIAA with an online platform or a “dashboard” to allow airport authorities to monitor GrabCar vehicles booked from NAIA. -- With a report from Jacque Manabat, ABS-CBN News
