<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="https://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2019/business/12/13/20190312_bsp-ben-diokno.jpg"/><figcaption>Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ (BSP) new governer, Benjamin Diokno during an interview with Cathy Yang for ANC’s The Boss, held at the BSP headquarters in Manila on March 12, 2019.<em> George Calvelo, ABS-CBN News</em></figcaption></figure></div><p>MANILA – (<strong>UPDATE</strong>) Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Benjamin Diokno said Thursday he was going on self quarantine while work at the central bank&#x27;s headquarters and security plant complex was suspended for 2 days to give way to cleaning.</p><p>Diokno told ABS-CBN News he was going on quarantine &quot;to be on the safe side,&quot; adding, &quot;But I&#x27;m well, perfectly well.&quot;</p><p>He did not immediately reply to questions on how his self-quarantine will affect a Monetary Board meeting scheduled on March 19.</p><p>Work at the BSP head office and security plan was suspended for 2 days from Thursday &quot;to facilitate disinfection of BSP premises as a precautionary measure against the spread of COVID-19,&quot; the monetary authority said in an advisory.</p><p>Normal open market, Philpass settlement operations and servicing of cash withdrawals by banks at the SPC will however continue, the BSP said. </p><p>Diokno on Thursday announced he would go on a self-quarantine after attending an event with a confirmed coronavirus case last week. President Rodrigo Duterte and long-time aide Sen.
