Netizens squeeze Dole pineapples, mistaking it for Labor Department

<p>MANILA - It&#x27;s not easy when you&#x27;re a company whose name is the same as the acronym for the Department of Labor.</p><p>Dole Food Company, which supplies groceries with pineapples, bananas and other fruits, was again mistaken by some netizens for DOLE, the government agency.</p><p>On Dole Philippines&#x27; Facebook page, some netizens asked about the P5,000 <a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/business/03/18/20/dole-p5000-for-workers-no-salary-luzon-lockdown">cash assistance</a> that the government promised to workers affected by the work suspension imposed because of COVID-19. </p><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2020/news/03/25/dole.png"/></figure></div><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2020/business/03/25/dole-1.jpg"/></figure></div><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2020/business/03/25/dole-2.jpg"/></figure></div><p>Dole has yet to release a statement on the issue. </p><p>This was not the first time that Dole got confused with DOLE. </p><p>In 2017, the state-run Philippine News Agency <a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/classified-odd/08/11/17/going-bananas-govt-news-agency-runs-wrong-dole-logo-in-story">mistakenly</a> put the fruit company&#x27;s logo on a news article, when the story was really about DOLE&#x27;s guidelines for holiday pay. </p>
