MANILA - Workers who are required to work on regular holiday including April 9, 18, and 19 should receive twice their usual daily wages, the labor department said Wednesday.Employees who worked on regular holidays including April 9 (Araw ng Kagitingan), April 18 (Maundy Thursday) and April 19 (Good Friday) are entitled to receive &quot;double pay&quot; under the Proclamation No. 555 issued by President Rodrigo Duterte and the Labor Advisory No. 05 series of 2019, the Department of Labor and Employment said in a statement. The same scheme applies to those working on April 20 (Black Saturday), which is a special non-working holiday, DOLE said. Employees not required to work on a regular holiday are entitled to receive 100 percent of their salary ([Basic wage + COLA] x 100 percent), it said.Work done during regular holiday, meanwhile, shall be paid 200 percent of salary for 8 hours ([Basic wage + COLA] x 200 percent) with an additional 30 percent of hourly rate for overtime work, the labor department said.Employees working on a regular holiday, which also falls on a rest day, should be paid an additional 30 percent of the basic wage of 200 percent ([Basic wage + COLA] x 200 percent) + [30 percent (Basic wage x 200 percent], DOLE said. For April 20, a special non-working holiday, the &quot;no work, no pay&quot; policy applies unless an internal company regulation is implemented, the advisory said.Work done on a special non-working holiday shall be paid an additional 30 percent of the daily rate ([Basic wage x 130 percent] + COLA), and an additional 30 percent of the hourly rate for work done in excess of 8 hours (Hourly rate of basic wage x 130 percent x 130 percent x number of hours worked).Special non-working holiday duty that also falls on an employee&#x27;s rest day shall be paid an additional 50 percent of the hourly rate ([Basic wage x 150 percent] + COLA).Overtime work on a special non-working holiday and a rest day requires payment of an additional 30 percent of hourly rate (Hourly rate of the (basic wage x 150 percent x 130 percent x number of hours worked), DOLE said.
